In order to prep up Entourage fans in time for its July 12 season 6 premiere, HBO is set to release the season 5 DVD of the hit series, which means fans have a little under two weeks to catch up on Vince (Adrian Grenier) and the gang. Other series with DVD releases this week include fellow HBO comedy Eastbound and High, Secret Diary of a Call Girl season 2, and Stargate Atlantis season 5.
In other Entourage news, one of its star Jerry Ferrara, who plays Turtle on the series, said he's not worried of getting canceled anytime soon because the most powerful person in the land watches the show and he won't let such a thing happen.
"They did some special, an Inside the Obama White House special. Like, 'This is where President Obama watches such shows as
Entourage'. So it kind of made me say, 'Well, HBO, if you ever think of cancelling us, the president would disagree with you'," Ferrara, 29, says in an interview on
The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. He said that as long as Obama stays in power,
Entourage is "good," and "If Mr. Obama has his way, I think we'll be doing the show from an old age home," he added.
On the July 12 season 6 opener, Vince is back in the fast lane with his new Martin Scorsese-directed movie Gatsby. He is preparing for his driving test and an appearance with Jay Leno. Elsewhere, Eric (Kevin Connolly) considers moving into his own house, but is slightly worried about the impact on Vince and the gang. Lloyd (Rex Lee), finally, confronts Ari (Jeremy Piven) with an ultimatum regarding his employment. Little did he know that Ari has a proposition of his own.
