Episode Overview: Eric and Vince clash over the quality of Medellin, made worse when the film is submitted to the Cannes Film Festival. Drama and Turtle head out on a double date, but one of them winds up getting a raw deal.

When we last left the boys of Entourage, movie star Vince Chase (Adrian Grenier) and his friend and manager Eric (Kevin Connolly) were in disagreement about the first cut of Medellin. Vince found it amazing, E thought it sucked. Eric comes up with suggestions for ways to cut down the film, but Vince suggests he talk to Billy Wlahs (Rhys Coiro), the film’s director, directly. This will probably spell disaster…and it does. Walsh is in no mood to hear what “the suit” has to say and wants to submit the movie to Cannes instead of Sundance without any changes to the film.

Meanwhile, Vince’s brother Johnny Drama (Kevin Dillon) has plans for him and Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) to get some action from a pair of Malibu chicks from his past. On their way to the date, with Vince as their fifth wheel, Vince opts out after meeting a hot girl at a red light, as movie stars always do, at least on this show. If only it were that easy! New Girl takes Vince to her friend’s house, who just happens to be Dennis Hopper, who Vince just happens to be a big fan of. While the girl tries getting Vince alone, he’s busy betting on soccer games with Dennis.

It took until halfway through the episode for the appearance of Vince’s highly volatile agent, Ari (Emmy winner Jeremy Piven), but it’s always worth the wait. Ari’s suggestion to Eric regarding the Billy situation: kill Billy, then kill himself. The only glimmer of hope is the tantalizing trailer the production crew made up. While Ari tries to sell the trailer, E expresses his reservations on the film. They butt heads and Eric promises to take care of it himself. He flies solo to meet with Harvey, a film producer, to try to sell the film and get the control out of Billy’s crazy hands.

Vince’s money manager gives him a call to give some bad news: he’s broke and living off credit cards. The day is going from bad to worse: when Vince gets wind that Eric told Ari the movie sucks, they have it out.

Drama’s former flame (soap star Lisa Rinna) brings a friend for Turtle but she’s not exactly what he had in mind. She’s reminiscent of Horatio Sanz’s character Karen from Saturday Night Live – loud, obnoxious and definitely lacking the California body Turtle’s always chasing. Turtle’s misery throughout the date makes for some enjoyable moments. Drama’s ready to get it on and Turtle is asked to take one for the team. But the tables are turned when Drama’s woman switches it up, choosing Turtle and leaving him with the obnoxious friend. Once again, the world is a cruel mistress for Johnny Drama.

There is a happy ending tonight on Entourage. Turtle finally gets some, E and Vince make up, Harvey makes an offer, and the film gets into Cannes. Every day should end so well.
