Tuesday, July 29, 2008

Engaged and UnderageStarting off with four classic episodes of the series, MTV will air a special live one-hour episode of Engaged and Underage on Saturday August 2 at 5pm ET/PT.  The special 5 pm show will feature one incredible lucky couple who will say their vows in Time Square in New York in front of a national audience, while some of the series' fan favorite couples, such as Jewel and Cory and Bre and Josh, grace the occasion.

As if this wasn't enough treat for Engaged and Underage viewers, the marathon will also include new updates on how the couples have been since their nuptials.  If fans can't wait for the live show, they will be able to log onto enaged.mtv.com to read blog entries from some of the favorite series couples following their weddings, plus marathon episode-streaming, wedding photos, and even interviews with the couple, their family and friends.

The lucky couple to be featured on Engaged and Underage: Live! is Douglasville, Georgia natives Nikki Bryant, 18, and Josh Turner, 19.  After meeting each other when they were 14, the two said they have been inseparable since then and that they always knew that they wanted to spend their lives together.

After high school, Josh joined the Army National Guard while Nikki stayed for senior year.  After Nikki's graduation, however, they learned that Josh will be deployed to Afghanistan next year, so they decided to take full advantage of the one year they have and spend it in martial bliss.  All is not peachy, however, as problems such as parental intervention, finding a place to live, and financial inadequacies creep their way into the romance.  The two still maintain that they want to have that one perfect day when they can just forget everything and leave the uncertainties for tomorrow.
