Enchanted’s
Amy Adams was parachuted in—not literally, but you’ll get it—to play Amelia Earhart, the record-breaking yet sadly-missing pilot.
Adams revealed to MTV News some bits about what will happen to her on the film. At the Smithsonian, the plane the real-life Earhart used on her non-stop flight across the Atlantic is exhibited, and it only means one thing: “She gets to fly again.”
She had fun shooting the film, partly because her co-stars—
Ben Stiller and
Bill Hader—made impressions of the film’s director, Shawn Levy, all throughout. “[But he is] very serious and very professional and very about making the work the best it can be,” she admitted. “Whenever he had a line of exposition, he gave it to me. He’s really generous, and because of him, my screen time is doubled.”
She also had a blast appearing as Earhart. “[She] has so much energy, and such a sense of adventure, and so much confidence," she said. "I realized it’s the first time I’ve played a really confident character.”
