'Bachelorette' Sneak Peek Video: The Men Show Off Their Archery Skills ... in 'Skirts'
Friday, June 15, 2012
"The difference between a skirt and a kilt is, uh ... nothing."
So says Bachelorette contestant Sean in the following sneak peek from Monday's upcoming episode in Croatia. And though I'm sure there are lots of Scots out there who would beg to differ with him on that, I have to admit that these guys do look pretty silly with their green plaid kilts flowing in the breeze. But it's not because of the kilts. It might be the matching muscle tees. Or how they're walking in a line trying to look all hard, but end up looking like a Broadway musical "gang" who might break into a lively jig at any moment. Or the fact that they're on their way to compete in a fake "Highland Games" field sports competition inspired by a Disney/Pixar film for children.
Maybe it's all of the above?
Check out the clip, which shows the guys and Emily kicking off their "Highland Games" (inspired by the upcoming animated movie Brave) with an archery competition ... which isn't exactly Chris's expertise. WATCH:
In case you didn't catch that, a grown man in a fake sports competition inside of another, larger fake dating competition just said, in all earnestness, that he wanted to "change his fate," because he was inspired by a children's movie to think and say that. And by "fate," he meant his ability to survive a little longer in the presence of his withholding communal TV girlfriend. And he wanted to do it by proving his masculinity once and for all, by hitting a target with an little arrow.
And he missed.
If that doesn't completely encapsulate the mentality of the men on The Bachelorette, I don't know what does. I love this show so much.
