Tonight's installment of
Eli Stone marks the return of
Katie Holmes to the small screen after the teen drama
Dawson's Creek as Joey Potter, a role she portrayed five years ago. It also marks her reunion with show co-creator and executive producer Greg Berlanti, whom she previously worked with on
Dawson's Creek.
As hinted previously, the appearance of Holmes on
Eli Stone will involve a song and dance number when Eli has one of his visions. To find out more about tonight's episode, read on.
In the second episode of
Eli Stone's sophomore season called “Grace,” Eli discovers that his latest vision, which comes in the form of a gorgeous, confident, brunette singing to him, is real after he meets her in the flesh at a baseball game. Eventually, Eli finds himself attracted to the mysterious girl who goes by the name of Grace and they embark on a whirlwind romance. At the same time, Eli and Maggie represent a father who's trying to stop his who died in Iraq, from receiving a military burial.
Meanwhile, series co-creator Marc Guggenheim sheds more light on Holmes' character on
Eli Stone. Aside from partaking in Eli's visions, she will also serve as a lawyer who is a bit of an accident-prone klutz who is leaving San Francisco for Africa in a matter of days.
“I think Katie enjoyed being on the show, particularly the singing and dancing, and [husband] Tom [Cruise] really enjoyed watching her,” Guggenheim told MTV.
