While the bulk of primetime shows have either shut down, are just about to or have resorted to reruns in the wake of the ongoing writers' strike, a handful of scripted programs are about to debut or return with new seasons. Among the freshman shows all set to burst onto the small screen is the quirky drama,
Eli Stone.
British import
Jonny Lee Miller stars as the title character, a ruthless attorney whose choices and lack of scruples come into question when he starts experiencing George Michael musical hallucinations. Aside from Miller and the occasional George Michael cameo,
Eli Stone also stars
Natasha Henstridge, most recently of the defunct
Commander in Chief.
Your Take

I will be tuning in. i love Natasha & Jonny Lee Miller lights up the screen and it comes right after LOST. ...
Henstridge, who played Donald Sutherland's beautiful and cunning collaborator against Geena Davis' presidential character on
Commander in Chief, now takes on the role of Eli Stone's fiancé, Taylor Weathersby.
"I sat in the bathtub - I read all my scripts there - and I was absolutely enthralled and felt the same way as when I read
Commander in Chief," Henstridge said. "It's just a dream job for me. There's a lot of drama going on in the script. She's the kind of person who's planned and plotted everything her whole life, and this throws a wrench in the spokes."
Henstridge is hoping that her new series will have a longer run than
Commander in Chief did. The odds are good, as
Eli Stone was given the coveted time slot of Thursdays at 10pm, following the new, highly anticipated season of
Lost. The show managed to complete filming all 13 episodes initially ordered. As such, viewers will have the full first season of
Eli Stone to sink their teeth into, amidst the scarcity of shows due to the scribes' walkout.
Natasha Henstridge first gained prominence as the murderous alien in the science fiction film, Species.
