Elementary is about to get a visit from the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. Natalie Dormer, who plays King Joffrey's bride-to-be Margaery Tyrell on Game of Thrones, has been cast for a multi-episode arc on the CBS hit drama Elementary as the iconic Irene Adler.

Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

Adler, as was revealed earlier this season, was Sherlock Holmes' girlfriend in London who was murdered by the notorious criminal known as Moriarty. Dormer will appear in three episodes, starting on May 9 and ending with the two-hour season 1 finale on May 16.

Will she pop up in flashbacks that fill in Sherlock's past, or is it possible her death was an elaborate hoax? Either way, putting the Adler and Moriarty mythology front and center for the final three episodes of season 1 is a great way to catapult the show into a new chapter.

Sherlock fans are definitely familiar with Irene Adler. On the BBC Sherlock starring Benedict Cumberbatch, she was played by Lana Pulver (True Blood's fairy, Claudine) and in the Robert Downey, Jr. films, she's played by Rachel McAdams.

Dormer is best known as the soon-to-be queen on Game of Thrones, though she was also notable for playing Anne Bolyen on Showtime's The Tudors.

Elementary airs Thursdays at 10pm on CBS. Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9pm on HBO.
