Syfy has a pulled the plug on Alphas after two seasons. The cancellation didn't really come as a surprise since the series created by created by Zak Penn and Michael Karnow, which follows a group of people with superhuman abilities, concluded its sophomore season last October with just a little more than 1 million viewers tuning in to the finale.

Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

The network released the following statement: "Syfy has decided not to renew Alphas for a third season. We've been proud to present this entertaining, high-quality series for two seasons and to work with an incredible ensemble of talented actors, producers and creatives as well as our partners at BermanBraun Television. We'd like to thank the show's dedicated regular viewers for their tremendous support."

Meanwhile, Lifetime has also decided not to renew the dramedy Drop Dead Diva, which features Brooke Elliott  a plus size lawyer whose body is taken over by the soul of a fashion model. The series lasted four seasons but according to Deadline, Sony Pictures TV might possibly shop it elsewhere.

The news of Drop Dead Diva's cancellation comes a few months after another Josh Berman drama series, The Mob Doctor, was canceled at FOX.
