Drake and Josh: "Really Big Shrimp" Recap
Drake and Josh: "Really Big Shrimp" Recap
Tonight is the premiere of Drake and Josh's second movie, Really Big Shrimp.  In this hour long episode, Drake gets a music deal but Josh finds a way to screw it up.  Helen plans her wedding and Mindy steps on Josh's toes.

Drake (Drake Bell) is performing at the movie theater tonight and Josh (Josh Peck) has arranged for a big time scout from Spin City Records to come by to check it out.  When their family comes to check out the performance, they run into Helen, Josh's boss, who's getting married next week.  She doesn't have enough room to house her family who will be in town so Walter (Jonathan Goldstein) offers her their house.  The Spin City executive loves the song and schedules a meeting for a possible record deal.

Josh finds Megan (Miranda Cosgrove) eating sushi off of his guitar.  Why is she doing that, you ask?  Because it upsets him.  Why else?  Helen shows up to drop her grandmother off at the house for the week.  Grandma will be staying in Megan's room while Megan has to room with the boys.  I smell trouble.

Drake and Josh meet with the president of Spin City Records and his associates.  The president cuts to the chase and offers Drake a record deal.  A shoe company wants to use Drake's song for a commercial that's going to air during the Super Bowl.  They immediately bring Drake into the studio to record his soon-to-be hit song.  He gets a personal assistant, Frank, to take care of his every need.

While Drake records, Josh fills out some paperwork as his manager.  Josh is served really big shrimp as he's looking over the contract and gets slightly distracted.  When Drake and Josh head to their room to share the good news, they find it's been Megan-fied, complete with pink and purple furniture and decorations.  All she gave them was an air mattress in the corner.

Helen meets with the staff at the movie theater to name a new assistant manager.  Though Josh is expecting the title, his longtime rival and sometimes girlfriend Mindy Crenshaw is given the gold vest.  He is immediately upset and yells at her, but as his manager, she takes over and shuts him down.

The record execs bring Drake and Josh a CD of his new song but when he hears it, it sounds completely different.  When Drake is upset over the sound, the execs let him know that Josh signed a contract waiving all creative freedom.  Drake yells at him and Josh says he was mesmerized by the giant shrimp.  He didn't even read the contract.  Drake fires Josh as his manager.

Drake walks through the house with a mysterious clear box of fruit flies.  Megan kicks them out of "her" room so she and her friends can hang out and decorate cakes.  Drake plans to put the fruit flies in the executive's car so he always has to drive around with flies in his face.  Not exactly a great plan but he's looking to play dirty.  When Josh doesn't get on board, Drake tells him he'll always be a loser.

Josh pays a visit to the record company and finds his way into the sound studio.  When the rep from the shoe company comes to pick up the song, Josh gives her the original song instead of the remixed version.  When the Super Bowl airs, Josh forces Drake onto the couch to watch and see that the version he wrote and wanted is on the TV.  Spin City Records immediately calls the house to let Josh know he broke the law and they're going to be sued for $5 million and possible jail time.

While the two stress over their legal woes at the movie theater, Crazy Steve goes ... well, crazy ... and Josh steps in to calm him down.  Mindy admits that she took the job to spend more time with Josh.  Their moment is interrupted by Drake who says the president of Spin City wants to see them right away in his office.  In the meeting, both boys admit to switching out the song.  The president lets them know that over 30,000 e-mails and phone calls have come in from fans asking to buy the song.  Seems Drake is on his way to a number one hit.

Drake is signed to a multi-record contract and the record exec who tried to ruin Drake's song is fired.  All is well again and the family heads to the movie theater to celebrate Helen's nuptials.  When a small fire breaks out, everyone is evacuated outside and Josh convinces everyone to have the wedding out in the parking lot.  Josh is promoted to assistant manager as Mindy steps down but the two get back together and Drake plays the crowd off into the night.
