Dr. Steve-O is a new reality series from the USA Network. The show features
Steve-O of
Jackass fame and reality star Trishelle Cannatella as they try to “de-wussify” socially-inept men from all over the country.
The seven-episode debut season of
Dr. Steve-O features men who have been nominated by their friends, girlfriends, wives, mothers, colleagues and sometimes even themselves to undergo the “de-wussification” process at the hands of Steve-O and “nurse” Trishelle. Together with Reggie “Big Regg" Pace, their fearsome but trustworthy driver, Steve-O and Trishelle travel across the country in a tricked-out ambulance to confront the guys and subject them to a series of funny and twisted dares that will surely bring them out of their shells.
At the end of each episode, the men walk away with renewed confidence in having overcome their issues and fears, enabling them to live the life they always desired.
Both Steve-O and Trishelle's fame are products of their involvement with MTV. While Steve-O earned popularity for his quirky but dangerous stunts on
Jackass, Trishelle was a cast member on
The Real World: Las Vegas. She also appeared in such reality series as
The Surreal Life,
Fear Factor and
Kill Reality, which documented the making of the reality stars-led film,
The Scorned.
Reggie is a former football player and an up-and-coming rap artist. He has worked with such big names as Eazy E.
Bunim/Murray Productions, the same company behind MTV's
The Real World and E!'s
The Simple Life, is producing Dr. Steve-O. Jonathan Murray and Jeff Jenkins serve as the show's executive producers.
"We are thrilled to be collaborating with USA Network in bringing back someone with such a sizable, existing fan base on cable," Murray said. "Steve-O is certain to complement USA's innovative programming."
Dr. Steve-O premiered on October 1, with subsequent episodes airing Monday nights at 11/10c on the USA Network. For those who want to refer a friend to the show, log on www.drsteveo.com for details.
