dog the bounty hunterIt's no secret that Dog the Bounty Hunter is coming back on the air, thanks to fans' campaigning efforts to save the show and Dog Chapman's various efforts to reach out to the black community.  Congratulating the star of the show and his supporters for the resumption of the series is Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, founder and president of BOND, the Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny, a group dedicated to promoting responsible fatherhood amongst African-Americans.

In recent issued statement, Peterson, who made headlines after his call for support for Chapman following his controversial racial slur, extends his delight to Chapman and his family, and talks about how fans positively responded in Chapman's time of need.

"Congratulations to Duane Chapman and his family.  Duane is not a racist.  We're happy to learn that A&E is planning to resume production of Dog The Bounty Hunter, which should have never been suspended,” Peterson said.

According to Peterson, Chapman and his wife Beth Chapman have reached out and generously shared their time and financial support to help many kids.  They have also hosted two successful charity events last Christmas and also donated copies of Dog Chapman's book You Can Run But You Can't Hide with all the proceeds going to charity.

"We're especially pleased that Duane [Dog Chapman] sought out BOND to advise him and offer guidance.  There is no doubt that the Chapmans' situation was improved by his refusal to bow and scrape to the usual race hustlers.  Duane's fans are eagerly awaiting his return.  Congratulations to A&E for making the right decision."

Dog the Bounty Hunter
is a reality series the follows Dog Chapman and his team in pursuits against actual criminals who violated the conditions of their bail.  It also shows Dog's life as a husband and as a father to some of his twelve children.  The show premiered in 2004 and has attracted a solid following over its nearly five-year run.  Although A&E has stated that production of the show would resume, no air date has been announced.
