Donald Sutherland and Jill ClayburghPreviously on Dirty Sexy Money: Karen got married for the fourth time, then got divorced an hour later.   Reverend Brian had his illegitimate son taken away from him by the boy's mother.  Juliet and Natalie Kimpton became BFFs again over Jeremy's objections.  Patrick's wife found out about his transexual affair, but vowed to stand by him after setting up ground rules with Carmelita.  Simon Elder continued to be an evil billionaire, aligning with Patrick, and Tripp and Nick teamed up to destroy him.

Nick (Peter Krause) and his wife are in bed, picking colors to paint the house, then he goes to work.  First up, he deals with Tripp's vendetta against Simon Elder (Blair Underwood) for stealing Patrick (William Baldwin) away from him.  Tripp (Donald Sutherland) wants him to arrange a sit-down with Patrick and Simon for Thanksgiving weekend.  Patrick agrees, but only if Nick gets Carmelita to talk to Patrick's wife, Ellen.  Then Nick gets Simon to agree.

Patrick and Ellen have their meeting with Carmelita, and he is not looking all that comfortable, having his wife and his transexual lover in the same room.  Ellen offers her one Saturday a month, and one Tuesday or Wednesday every other week.  Carmelita comes back with needing two days a week, or else he'll sneak out, which nobody wants.

Nick tries to convince his wife Lisa (Zoe McLellan) to come to the Darling country house with him for the meeting, and she eventually agrees.  Meanwhile, Letitia (Jill Clayburgh) is inviting daughter Karen (Natalie Zea) to the country house as well, in part of her larger plan to get Karen and Nick together.  Nick, Lisa, Karen, Letitia, Simon and Patrick all arrive at the country house.  Simon is greeted by Tripp, in an orange jacket cocking his massive rifle.  The men go out hunting, and Nick wonders if Tripp is gonna go all Dick Cheney on Simons face.  Tripp responds with a non committal "Come on, you know me."

At dinner, Simon says he's a vegetarian, and Karen wonders if he eats anything yummy.  After, Tripp, Nick, Simon and Patrick sit down to discuss the Simon/Patrick alliance.  Tripp informs everyone that Simon's family used to work for the Darlings.  Simon's father and Tripp's mother were lovers, and Simon's father took his wife away to Siberia where they died, leaving him an orphan.  Simon claims his parents were hounded away to Russia due to the Darlings' influence.  Simon storms out, angry at Nick for betraying him.   Simon once again confuses Nick, implying that Tripp may have had his own brother assassinated.  At this point, I honestly have no idea which of them I trust, but I think Tripp may be telling fewer lies.

Meanwhile, Letitia takes Lisa to see her art and tells her about Karen kissing Nick and confessing her feelings after the wedding/divorce.  Lisa confronts Karen, and when Nick walks in, Lisa gets upset with him.  Patrick and Ellen go to sleep, but she's suspicious and he confesses he went off to a nearby hotel to see Carmelita.  Later, as Tripp and Letitia are relaxing, they hear a gunshot.  It's Ellen, and Patrick is limping and bloody.

The next morning, Nick gives a press conference where a family friend takes the fall for shooting Patrick, and it's exactly like Dick Cheney.  Nick and Tripp unwind, and it's revealed that the story he told Simon was all true, but it wasn't Tripp's parents who had Simon's parents deported, but rather it was Nick's father, giving Simon quite the motive to kill Dutch.  Then we see video footage of Darling Plaza being demolished.

In this episode of Dirty Sexy Money, Nick also works to get Brian custody of his child, but the boy's mother is looking for full custody.  Brian tries to buy his son, offering up to $3 million for her to just leave.  It's hilarious, because it's coming from a place of love.  At the deposition, the opposing lawyer brings up the whole "Swedish orphan" lie.  The Reverend tries his best to defend his horrific actions, ultimaely accepting that "I need help."  Once it looks bad for him, Reverend Brian prays to God to help him in his quest to win his son.  It's nice, until you see he's greasing the wheels by having someone bribe the arbiter in his case.  Sometimes God works in non-mysterious ways.

Jeremy (Seth Gabel) is busy this episode trying to win the heart of sexy Latina Sofia without letting her know his true identity.  She is a bit tipsy at the garage he works for, so Jeremy offers to drive her home.  He takes her to Brooklyn, which is a bit out of his comfort zone.  She says yes to going on a date with him.  To keep his identity a secret, he says his last name is Babeson.  Then he calls his driver to come get him the hell out of Brooklyn.

In a great scene, Jeremy asks the trusty driver Clark where normal, poor people eat, so he has some place to take Sofia on their date.  Clark gets in about a dozen hilarious one liners, the greatest being when he says, after Jeremy mocks his poor person mustache, that "Yes, I'm too poor to afford a full beard."  Clark settles on going out for pizza followed by a walk outside.

They go out to a nice place, and Jeremy bribes a hostess to get a seat, but also convinces her to call him Jeremy Babeson and pretend he told her it was Sofia's birthday.  At dinner, she wants to come over to his place, but he makes up an excuse to keep her in the dark about his background.  This is so gonna backfire, like it always does.  After dinner, they hang out and he says his father is a limo driver for the Darlings, but she has no clue who those people are.  They make out.

The next day, Jeremy is getting picked up by Clark, when Sofia shows up.  Clark plays along that he's Jeremy Babeson's dad, but when she goes to shake his hand, Clark goes for the hug.  It seems like my favorite character on this show changes every week, but right now, it's Clark.

On the next episode of Dirty Sexy Money: there's a Darling family secret that comes out.  That's a pretty lame promo as this entire show is based on Darling family secrets.
