Dirty Sexy Money, the series that explores family, wealth and power, will be returning for a second season with a different show runner. That's because Daniel Cerone, who currently spearheads the ABC dramedy, has decided to exit the show just after three months of landing the said position.
Cerone, who joined
Dirty Sexy Money after the end of the writers' strike in February as a replacement for then show runner John Reims, is credited for shows like
Charmed, First Wave and
Dexter, where he serves as producer and was nominated for Writers Guild of America Award for best dramatic series for his work on the second season. He will now focus on developing new projects.
According to
The Hollywood Reporter, Cerone is very well liked at ABC Studios where he as a two-year overall deal, even though he didn't turn out to be a good fit of
Dirty Sexy Money.
Stepping in as
Dirty Sexy Money's new show runner is Jon Feldman, creator of ABC's
Big Shots. The hiring of Feldman stems from his long-standing relationship with
Dirty creator Greg Berlanti, who worked under Feldman on his first series,
Dawson's Creek.
Production of the second season of
Dirty Sexy Money, which had been scheduled to film until a planned July hiatus, has been shut down to give Feldman time to get up to speed. Filming is expected to resume after the July hiatus.
Dirty Sexy Money stars
Blair Underwood as Simon Elder,
Donald Sutherland as Tripp Darling,
Glenn Fitzgerald as Brian Darling,
Jill Clayburgh as Letitia Darling,
Natalie Zea as Karen Darling,
Peter Krause as Nick George,
Seth Gabel as Jeremy Darling, William Baldwin as Patrick Darling, and
