Rick Fox was born July 24, 1969 in Toronto, Ontario. T he family moved to their native home in Bahamas when Rick was two years old. He studied at Kingsway Academy, where he played for the high school basketball team, the Saints. In 1987, he was chosen to join the Indiana All-Star team. While a college student at the University of North Carolina, Rick played in the NCAA basketball tournaments.
In 1991, the Boston Celtics selected him in the NBA Draft. He was the first rookie forward to start on opening night after Larry Bird's debut in 1979. Rick Fox played with the Boston Celtics for 13 seasons from 1991 to 1997. He also played with the Canadian team at the 1994 FIBA Basketball World Championship. Before his retirement, he was with the Los Angeles Lakers from 1997 to 2004.
He appeared as Terry Hasting in Eddie and as Chick Deagan in He Got Game. He was also seen in movies Blue Chips, Resurrection, Holes and Mini's First Time. He is credited as producer of the world's biggest shortest film, The 1 Second Film. Among his TV guest appearances were on
