FX has finally scheduled the return of
Dirt, the drama series starring and executive produced by
Courteney Cox. All-new episodes of the show will hit this month, kicking off with the installment “Welcome To Normal,” which premieres tonight at 10pm. Like fellow sophomore entry
The Riches, the network has opted to bring back
Dirt with a shortened run, despite the fact that only seven out of the 13 episode ordered were completed prior to the strike.

For those who are not familiar,
Dirt is a series that follows the exploits of Lucy Spiller, an executive editor at tabloid magazine,
DirtNow. It focuses on her power to manipulate the lives of celebrities through the articles she prints in the magazine, as well as her long time friend Don Konkey, a photographer and functioning schizophrenic who is deeply loyal to her.
Tonight's episode picks up right where last season's finale left off, in which Lucy is unconscious after a brutal attack by Julia Mallory, who blames
DirtNow magazine for the destruction of her career. After surviving her violent attack, she returns to the publication company to reclaim her position as Tabloid Queen. For her first assignment, she attempts to dig the truth about a famous heiress about to have a baby and also becomes involved with a young musician.
As for Don, he begins to experience life on medication and is having a difficult time after finding Lucy.
Dirt stars Courteney Cox (
Friends, 3000 Miles to Graceland) as Lucy Spiller,
Ian Hart (
Still Waters Burn, A Girl and a Gun) as Don Conkey,
Josh Stewart (
Third Watch, CSI) as Holt McLaren, and
Laura Allen (
The 4400, All My Children) as Julia Mallory.
Fans can catch a new episode of
Dirt every Sunday at 10pm on FX.
