James Remar was born on December 31, 1953 in Boston, Massachusetts. As an actor, he was popularly known for his portrayal of Lord Raiden in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation and Ajax in the film The Warriors. His other credits included The Phantom, The Cotton Club, Fear X, The Girl Next Door and Psycho to name a few. Moreover, he acted in 98 various media projects in the field of movies, video games and television. At present, he plays Harry Morgan in the suspense thriller series Dexter.
Harry Morgan was a member of the Miami-Dade Police Department. He was also
Dexter 's foster father and was the first to learn about Dexter's interest in blood. He influenced Dexter to transform his violent outbursts into vigilant justice, and taught him how to conceal his tracks. Though he is included in the series, he only appears in flashbacks, having passed away before the start of the series.
