Rapper and actor Mos Def has signed on for a multi-episode arc for Dexter season 6. The Hollywood Reporter gives us the rundown on his character:

Mos Def "will play a hardened ex-con who claims to have found religion yet seems to continually find himself surrounded by violence. Michael C. Hall's Dexter will reveal the truth of who he really is." THR calls his character "one of the upcoming season's villains," which seems to white-wash some of the nuance of this description--but who are we kidding? Almost everyone is a villain in Dexter's world. And if history is any precedent, Mos Def will probably end up Mos Dead on Dex's table in the end.

They also reveal more information about Colin Hanks' new character, who will appear in all twelve episodes of the season:

"Hanks will play Travis, Dexter's main nemesis and a highly intelligent ancient artifacts expert who is linked to a series of grisly murders in Miami."

Ancient artifacts expert! Faaaancy. So basically (in my mind, anyway, where I get to decide!) Hanks is basically a nerdier, evil-er Indiana Jones. Maybe Travis will have a hat! And kill with a whip.

It's a good thing I'm not a Dexter staff writer. But until we see what they've come up with for evil artifacts expert Travis and ex-con Mos Def (name TBD), tell me: What are your thoughts and theories on Dexter season 6?
