Michael C. Hall in Treatment for Cancer

Hall, 38, announced his cancer diagnosis early this year though it didn't stop him from attending the Golden Globes where he ultimately won the award for Best Actor in a TV Drama--his first Golden Globe for portraying a serial killer turned family man on Showtime's Dexter. Consequently, he also snagged honors at the Screen Actors Guild awards.

Amidst this ordeal, many people have been optimistic about Hall's fight against cancer, including fans, his wife Carpenter, who called him "brave," and Dexter executive producer Sara Colleton.

"Michael's in full remission.... He's in great shape and is getting his energy back. We are all very excited to get back to work," Colleton told Entertainment Weekly last month. "The guy is incredibly courageous and worked hard all through last season despite being sick. He's an amazing human being and actor. It was scary, but the show will go on. We start shooting in late April or May, which is usual. We will not have to stall production."

Dexter's fifth season is expected to premiere in September. Meanwhile, Hall is busy shooting East Fifth Bliss, a comedy drama adapted from the novel of the same name by Douglas Light.
