Now that Dexter Morgan has found something in common with the Trinity Killer, his curiosity to uncover Trinity's well-kept mask is greater than ever. However, getting behind that facade will require some extra prodding on Dexter's part and we see it all happening in "If I Had A Hammer," the sixth episode of Dexter
's fourth season.

There's a lot to learn from Trinity considering that he hasn't been caught for several decades but Dexter priority right now is avenging his sister Deb so he working extra hard to stay one step ahead of Miami Metro's investigations before the police department discovers Trinity's latest handiwork.
On the other hand, catching a serial killer is not the only thing on Dexter's mind these days since his marriage with Rita is also crumbling apart. After learning about Dexter's bachelor apartment in last week's episode, Rita realizes that she doesn't really know the man she married and is now suspicious of every word that comes out of Dexter's mouth. In attempt to mend their relationship, Dexter and Rita seek relationship advice from a therapist, played by Nip/Tuck's Roma Maffia
. But will that be enough to save their marriage?
Meanwhile, Debra becomes frustrated when she finds herself shut out from her own case. In the name of justice, she bends the rules but, in the process, risks her career. At the same time, LaGuerta and Batista come to regret a major decision, and realize that by playing by the rules they may have painted themselves into a corner.
