Welch Still Hoping to Get 'Desperate Housewives' Gig
A number of notable stars have come and gone over the course of ABC's Desperate Housewives, but one celebrity is still waiting for her chance to drop by Wisteria Lane.

Veteran actress and Golden Globe winner Raquel Welch remains hopeful about landing a role in the hit dramedy, which stars Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria Parker, Nicollette Sheridan, Felicity Huffman and Marcia Cross.  Welch had come close to joining the show last year, but the deal fell through at the last minute.  Nevertheless, she admitted that she would still very much like to work on the series.
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

"There was talk, but nothing materialized. I've often thought that I would like to play a relative of Eva Longoria, but it's fine,” the 67-year-old actress said, adding that she is grateful to still be part of the industry despite her advancing years.  "I'm working in this medium.  We're all in this together, and I'm really enjoying it."

Despite losing the Desperate Housewives deal, Welch, whose credits include the shows Bewitched, McHale's Navy, Seinfeld and Central Park West, can still be seen on the small screen, playing Charlene van Ark on the new CBS' comedy, Welcome to the Captain.

Meanwhile, Extra is reporting that Jason Gedrick will be coming back to Desperate Housewives this spring.  Fans will remember Gedrick as Rick Colletti, the manager of Scavo's pizzeria who cooked up trouble for Lynette (Huffman) and Tom (Doug Savant).  It is unknown at this time in which of the new episodes Gedrick will appear.

Speaking of new episodes, ABC announced recently that Desperate Housewives is returning with five original installments and a fourth season finale in the spring.  The new batch will begin airing on Sunday, April 13.  Show actress Brenda Strong, meanwhile, revealed that the new episodes take place some time after the show's January 6 broadcast, which focused on the aftermath of the devastating tornado.
