As expected, Vanessa Williams'
foray into Wisteria Lane will be of the wrecking-ball type on
Desperate Housewives, but unfortunately, she will not be wreaking havoc on Susan (Teri Hatcher).

Ugly Betty's deliciously evil Wilhelmina on ABC, is set to play Renee Filmore-Jones, an old college friend of Lynette (Felicity Huffman). The two are supposedly rivals way back in the 80's, and they exactly haven't made amends.
In addition, Renee has been married to a hunky sportsman for years, a role that has yet to be cast. The two have no kids, so Renee had spent all these years just being a housewife to her hubby. She has apparently reached a point when she wants to do more.
And as is customary in all Wisteria Lane migrants: Renee has a secret of her own, probably not eco-terrorism-related. Maybe something about the finale shocker about babies being switched?
The choice of Lynette is a bit meh. The woman gave birth in a serial killer's house. She can pretty much do anything, so the clash has the potential to be epic. Susan does not stand a chance against the former Wilhelmina Slater, so that's already doomed. Bree (Marcia Cross) is crazy, too. Which leads us to ask:
Is Vanessa Williams the new Edie (Nicolette Sheridan)?
