Dana Delany as Katherine MayfairIt's common practice to draw up a list of resolutions and wishes every time a year ends and a new one begins, and among Desperate Housewives actress Dana Delany's list is the end of the still ongoing Writers Guild of America strike.

“My wish for the New Year is that the writer's strike is settled,” Delany, who plays Katherine Mayfair on the ABC dramedy, said in a message posted on her official website.  “The issues being discussed affect actors also so I am in complete support of the writers.  But is has been hard on a lot of people in our business.”

The strike has halted not only the production of Desperate Housewives as well as other television series, but also Dana Delany's newfound momentum, having joined the show as a series regular just this season.

“I just miss going to work! I was beginning to get into the groove of being on Desperate Housewives and then we shut down,” she said.

Despite the inconveniences caused by the strike, Dana Delany is still thankful for the year that has passed.

“I have had a wonderful year professionally for which I am very grateful,” she said.  “I have gotten to work in every area- indie films, theater and a hit series!  And I have also gotten to spend a lot of time in New York where I now have an apartment.  Doing [the NBC drama] Kidnapped there last year started a whole new adventure for me.”

For the holidays, Dana Delany headed to Buenos Aires with her sister, Corey, whom she described as “a great traveling companion.”  It was the first time the 51-year-old actress had set foot on Argentina's capital city, which is why she spent most of her time “discovering the city.”

Fans of Delany will be able to catch her on a new episode of Desperate Housewives on Sunday, January 6.  The episode is a continuation of the show's December 2 broadcast, which featured a tornado sweeping through Wisteria Lane.
