Shawn Pyfrom as Andrew Van de Kamp

Shawn Caminiti Pyfrom was born on August 16, 1986 in Tampa, Florida. He is part-Italian, and has two siblings, Christopher and Amber. As a student, he has boasted of a 4.0 GPA at his high school, and has plans of pursuing collegiate studies in business, marketing and real estate.

He began his acting career by appearing in local commercials, and after some time, was able to find work in Disney's “Sing Me A Story.” Since then, Pyfrom has achieved considerable success in the entertainment industry, having acted in numerous national commercials, television productions and movies.

Among Pyfrom's film credits are Pay It Forward, A Day in the Life, Max Keeble's Big Move, The Shaggy Dog and The Darkroom. He has also displayed great versatility on the small screen, having portrayed a young boy with Tourettes' Syndrome on an episode of 7th Heaven , a Jewish boy on Touched By An Angel, and Danny Bonaduce on the ABC made-for-tv movie Come On Get Happy. The latter role earned Pyfrom a Hollywood Reporters' Young Star Award for Best Actor.

Pyfrom's additional television credits include Drew Carey, Buffy the Vampire Slayer , LA Doctors, Chicago Hope, Jesse, The State of Grace, Malcolm in the Middle , The Brothers Garcia, Still Standing, 8 Simple Rules, Nip/ Tuck, Ellen, The Division, My Hometown (Canadian television), and Reba (for which he earned a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Comedy Series). In 2004, he began appearing in the hit popular television series, Desperate Housewives, where he gives life to the character, Andrew Van de Kamp, the teenage gay son of Bree Hodge. Of his character, Pyfrom said, “What I really liked about it was that he was already developed as this strong little bastard who runs over old women, and now he's developing into a gay youth. I'm glad they had that other storyline first, so people didn't categorize him as ‘that gay youth.'”

In his spare time, Pyfrom enjoys rollerblading, listening to music, going to the movies and bonding with his friends.
