Fresh off her Parisian nuptials and honeymoon with NBA star Tony Parker,
Eva Longoria returned to the set of ABC’s
Desperate Housewives last week. The 32-year-old actress was more than happy to resume her work as an on-screen housewife on the hit series, which will premiere its fourth season in September.
"It was a great wedding, but it was time to get back to
Desperate Housewives," Liza Anderson, Eva Longoria’s representative, told
TVGuide. "I got a call from her this morning and she was already at work. She sounded so great, really upbeat. She's completely content."
Longoria and Parker were married twice in Paris, France, the first being a civil ceremony, and the second being the highly publicized wedding on July 7. Among their guests were Longoria’s Desperate Housewives co-stars and the show’s creator, Marc Cherry, who told the couple to set aside having children for the meantime as it does not have a place in the show’s script.
"We're fine with that," Eva Longoria told
OK! magazine. "We want to spend time with each other, even though we want kids very much."
For their honeymoon, the newlyweds sped off to the Caribbean Island of Turks and Cairos, where they stayed for one week. They returned to Los Angeles on July 15.
"It was just her and Tony," Anderson said of the couple's low-profile honeymoon. "They had a private villa. She's completely relaxed and rejuvenated. She had a full week alone with Tony to decompress… It was the perfect balance to gear up for season four. So she's really excited. She wasn't dreading work at all."
In
Desperate Housewives, Longoria plays Gabrielle Lang (formerly Solis). In the previous season's finale, Gabrielle was last seen kissing her ex-husband, Carlos Solis, after she realized that her new husband, mayorial candidate Victor Lang, is only using her to further his political career.
Although fans will have to wait until the fall to find out what is in store for Longoria's character, there is one thing that they can expect to remain the same in the upcoming season: the actress’ name in the credits.
"It will say Longoria for a while, but I love the tradition of taking the name Parker," the actress told
OK! "Legally everything is changed."
