Will Doctor Who and Torchwood fans tune in to see John Barrowman on Desperate Housewives? He certainly hopes so, he says, but as of the moment, that remains to be seen. At the very least, the actor best known for his Captain Jack Harkness role on Doctor Who and eventually Torchwood has revealed what kind of role he will do on Wisteria Lane.
"I'm doing five episodes and I'm gonna be a villain," he tells Digital Spy. "I will be involved in the mystery storyline that they're doing at the moment with Drea de Matteo. I've been told by Marc that I will affect every one of the women in some way."
De Matteo, of course, plays matriarch Angie of this season's mystery family the Bolens. Their secret storyline is still ongoing, with things potentially coming to a head come season finale. Barrowman's character Patrick Logan will be the Big Bad in the Bolen storyline, set to kick off in April up into the finale.
Barrowman, 42, further explains, "I haven't met any of them. The only person I know is [
Desperate Housewives creator] Marc Cherry. The reason that I am going over to do
Desperate Housewives is because Marc is a fan of
Torchwood and Marc loved Captain Jack and he said, 'I'd love to bring you out here to do something.'"
The
Torchwood star says he hopes
Doctor Who and
Torchwood fans will tune in.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Barrowman is best known for playing Captain Jack Harkness in the science fiction series
Doctor Who and eventually
Torchwood.
