'Desperate Housewives' Turn Motherly

The set of Wisteria Lane is crawling with infants, thanks to proud mothers present in the cast of ABC's Desperate Housewives.  Though there aren't many toddlers seen on the show, the ladies have their own bundles of joy to take care of.  In a recent interview, actress Dana Delany revealed how her co-stars have been smitten by their off-camera babies.

First off, there's the 46-year-old mommy Marcia Cross with her twin girls, Eden and Savannah.  The siblings are both 21 months old, and are Cross' first kids with her husband Tom Mahoney.  Cross wed the stock broker in June of 2006, and the ceremony was held in front of 200 guests at San Gabriel, California.

OK! Magazine talked to Desperate Housewives' Dana Delany who noted how captivated Cross is with her children.  “Marcia's so besotted with her daughters that she can't wait to get home to them,” she said.  It's no surprise that Cross is giving her kids so much attention.  In the past, the actress has admitted that being pregnant at 44 years old was a pleasant shock.  Now that she's 46, she's garnered all the experience she needs to nurture her twins.

Another member of the cast who's been giving in to her motherly instincts is Eva Longoria Parker.  The 33-year-old actress has been known to make dresses for her nieces while on the set.  It appears as though she's preparing for children of her own, as she has already been married to San Antonio Spurs' point guard Tony Parker for over a year.

“There's no question she would be a good mom,” Delany said of Eva Longoria Parker.  “She's a big family person.”

It's quite a contrast to the show's storyline, since Desperate Housewives is notorious for its dramatic and relatively crazy treatment of traditional family values.  Despite that, the stars of the series remain true to their own qualities regarding motherhood.

A new episode of Desperate Housewives airs next Sunday at 9pm on ABC.
