Katherine Mayfair may soon bid farewell to Wisteria Lane, if and when the pilot
Body of Evidence gets a greenlight from ABC. According to
Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello,
Desperate Housewives star Dana Delany is in talks to spearhead the network's new procedural, which revolves around a female medical examiner that has a background in neurosurgery that gives her a unique angle when it comes to solving crimes.
Though ABC president Steve McPherson has extended an invitation to the 53-year-old actress to work on the pilot, a deal has yet to be made. The network has also yet to make an official announcement.
If and when Dana Delany decides to leave
Desperate Housewives for
Body of Evidence, it shouldn't really come as surprise to viewers of the ABC dramedy. Rumors about Delany's possible departure from the show already started to surface at the end of season 5. At the time, Delany's character Katherine was one of Mike's (James Denton) "cliffhanger" bride choices, the other being Susan (Teri Hatcher). Since then, her storylines have further taken a twisted turn--- she stabbed herself, had a stint in rehab, and most recently hooked up with Julie Benz's Robin.
