"Eva Longoria"Three months after she married NBA player, Tony Parker, Desperate Housewives star, Eva Longoria finally took on his name.  The bronzed beauty from Wisteria Lane has opted to follow marriage tradition where the bride assumes her groom's family name.

In other news still surrounding the Desperate Housewives actress, Longoria, or shall we say, Longoria Parker is also starring in a new comedy film.

"I actually completely adopted the new name and I love it - I'm a Parker now!” Longoria enthused.  "I love every bit of it - I like the tradition of changing the name.”

The diminutive actress also mentioned that she's been getting accustomed to being called Mrs. Parker in Texas.

"I've been getting used to being called Mrs. Parker for a while now.  It's really nice to hear.  Especially in Texas, everyone is really respectful there," Longoria Parker added.

Longoria Parker will be upping the comedic ante a bit when she joins American Pie's Jason Biggs and Boston Legal's Monica Potter for the film, Lower Learning.  In the movie, the Desperate Housewives star plays a school inspector on the trail of a suspicious elementary school principal, played by Rob Corddry.  She teams up with her former flame, played by Jason Biggs, who used to be a police officer but is now a vice-principal.

Others in the cast are Jack Black's Tenacious D partner, Kyle Gass and Corddry's Daily Show colleague, Ed Helms.  Principal photography is slated to commence this month and the film is scheduled for release next year.

In still other Desperate Housewives-related fare, Longoria Parker's co-star and occasional onscreen lover, Jesse Metcalfe, also has a movie in the works.  He is currently filming The Other End of the Line for MGM and Ashok Amritaj's Hyde Park Film.  Among Metcalfe's co-stars are some of India's loveliest faces like Shriya Saran and Tara Sharma.

The Other End of the Line tells the tale of an Indian call centre employee from Mumbai who goes to San Francisco to join a man she falls in love with across the wires.  The movie is currently on a 40-day shooting schedule in India before moving to California and New York for the remainder of the sequences.  It is set to be released in the U.S. towards the end of next year.
