Jay Harrington, a recurring actor on the series
Desperate Housewives, is set to embark on ABC’s new comedy pilot entitled
The News.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Harrington will portray a Phoenix television news reporter who likes to stir things up. Although the news is already confirmed, there are no reports on other details of the upcoming comedy series as of the moment.
Jay Harrington, a 35-year old American actor, is a native of Wellesley, Massachusetts. He studied at Syracuse University where he took up theater. Eventually, he moved to Los Angeles and pursued acting professionally. As an actor, he appeared on television shows like
Summerland, The Inside, The Division,
The Shield and
Time of Your Life. He also graced the movie world in films such as
Whatever It Takes and
Anywhere But Here. But he gained much exposure on the popular show
Desperate Housewives.
On
Desperate Housewives, Harrington plays the recurring character, Dr. Ron McCready. He depicts a surgeon at Sacred Heart Hospital who became the love interest of Susan Mayer, played by
Teri Hatcher, midway through the second season.
Meanwhile,
The News is just one of the network’s approaching series. ABC has also hired actress Faith Ford, known for her inclusion on
Hope & Faith and
Murphy Brown, to join the show entitled
Carpoolers. Here, she portrays the wife of one of four men who carpool to work. In addition, actress Laura Harris stars as one of the four leads on the drama series
Women’s Murder Club. The said series focuses on the lives of four girlfriends and their pursuit of murder cases. Other shows lined up are yet to be unveiled.
