ABC is setting its mid-season plans, and it involves two established shows returning in late February and early March once the Winter Olympics are over.

Designated Survivor Winter Finale: Tragedy Strikes>>>

Designated Survivor, which aired its Winter finale on December 13, will return Wednesday, February 28 at 10/9c for the second half of season 2. The show ended on a huge game-changer after the death of the First Lady that will have ripple effects for the rest of the series.

Once Upon a Time, which wraps up its first half on December 15, will return Friday, March 2 at 8/7c to finish out season 7.

ABC will also have two huge revivals in March. It was previously announced that the reboot of American Idol will start Sunday, March 11 at 8/7c.

The network has also revealed that its revival of Roseanne will premiere Tuesday, March 27 at 8/7c with a one-hour premiere. Starting the following week, it will settle into 8/7c while the final season of The Middle moves to 8:30pm.

The long Winter hiatuses have become a trend for ABC in recent years. To avoid repeats, the network will often include a three-moth break in the middle of the season before a drama returns in the Fall.
