Scott Corridan appears as a contestant in season two of the HGTV reality series Design Star. A 37-year-old native of Santa Barbara, California, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and works as an interior designer and event planner. He has said that he should be the one to win because he loves sharing and working through great design with an audience. He has also stated that his secret weapon is his glue gun, and that his design style boils down to chenille-blanket-throwing and California flip-flop-wearing, staying natural and sophisticated.
He has said that his three favorite styles are California beach, California modern ranch, and barn or western styles. He also believes that a designer should always light a space properly with either candlelight, incandescent light, or both. He adds that nobody looks good in a poorly lit fluorescent space. On the other hand, one thing he always avoids as a designer is placing objects at unnecessary angles. Corridan has worked as an associate designer at Tetsutti Bartoli Design and CT Design, and is the owner of Corridan & Company Design Studios. Aside from designing, he also enjoys horseback riding and skiing.
