Deal or No Deal Howie Mandel. In prime time. What more can a boy ask for? The only true game show now on prime time, Deal or No Deal is a British Import that requires absolutely no skill. I suppose there is a little math involved, but only if you still foolishly believe the banker will change his ways. Deal or No Deal is fun, but I wonder if it is a symbol of the devolution of our culture as a whole. These days, entertainment is quick-hitting, catering to our ever decreasing attention spans. We all know this. Even more troubling to me is the downfall of the intellectual. Not only do we not praise intellect and genius, we don't frown upon stupidity. Paris Hilton is more famous than Kofi Annan. It's okay to elect a dimwit to the Presidency of a major world power. And now, Deal or No Deal supplants "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" as the most successful prime time game show of our generation. I understand the inherent suspense of Deal or No Deal, but it is no different than the suspense of “Millionaire�. Why is watching luck happen better than watching skill? -Oscar Dahl
