Geri Jewell was popularly known for her portrayal of Cousin Geri on the television show The Facts of Life. She was the first person with cerebral palsy to have recurring roles on television. Later, an accident left her in a coma that lasted nearly a month. At present, she has completely recovered from the incident and is part of the television series Deadwood as Jewel. Jewel is a disabled cleaning woman at the Gem, Al Swearengen's saloon and brothel. Al usually makes public shows of barely tolerating her, referring her as "the glimp" and frequently complaining about the noise whenever she drags her leg.
