While fishing may be a fun, outdoor activity for the whole family, others see it as a hard way of living life.  Fishing for a living isn't as easy as it sounds, and the Discovery Channel has already placed the spotlight in the captains and crews who have lived their lives by the grueling seas in search of fish.  Deadliest Catch, the three-part miniseries which documented the struggles of the Alaskan crab fishermen, followed the fishermen aboard six fishing ships in the Bering Sea during the Alaskan king crab and Opilio crab fishing seasons.

The Discovery Channel is at it again, serving us up with another fresh catch for the season. This time, we're going behind the scenes into the lives of the fishermen who endure one of the most dangerous jobs in the world.

After the Catch is a will discuss various topics including legendary fishing moments while caught in huge waves and the treacherous ice pack. It will also focus on the brotherhood who go fishing together, the close calls they encounter during a rough day at sea, and how life is in the treacherous Alaskan waters.

The fishermen will let us in on their experiences in the Bering Sea in Gloucester, Massachusetts, a town made famous by its fishing and sea tragedies.

After the Catch will be hosted by Mike Row, host of Dirty Jobs and narrator for Deadliest Catch.  Author Spike Walker and Dutch Harbor bartender Lisa Roberts will also be on hand to share their stories about how life on the docks really is.

A moving interview with Captain Phil Harris of the F/V Cornelia Marie and his sons Jake and Josh will also be featured, as he recalls a disastrous ordeal wherein he was thrown from his bunk after the board endured a massive wave during Opilio crab season in January.  He eventually got ill but was not able to make it home due to the turbulent condition of the sea.  When he did get home, though, the diagnosis was very serious and he had to stay away from fishing for the rest of the season.

Tune into the Discovery Channel for more grueling stories on After the Catch, as it premieres after Deadliest Catch on Tuesday, June 17 at 10pm.
