-Romance Days of Our Lives debuted in 1965 on NBC and has continued to be a pillar of the network's daytime schedule. Days of Our Lives takes place in the fictional village of Salem and originally centered around the tumultuous Horton family. The show has since expanded to feature numerous other families.

Biography

Mary Beth Evans was born March 7, 1961 in Pasadena, California. When she was in fourth grade, she was voted by her classmates in Orange County, California. When she was fourteen, she got a job in a fast food restaurant and she spent her money on acting classes. She spent her later years in the prestigious South Coast Repertory Conservatory. She has been married to Dr. Michael Schwartz since 1985 and has three children with him, Daniel Luke, Katherine Elizabeth, and Matthew Joseph. Evans is a working mother who enjoys interior decorating, cooking and crafts. Her most famous appearance is on Days of Our Lives where she plays Kayla Brady. Her other appearances include that in General Hospital , One Life to Live , and As the World Turns .

Kayla Brady Johnson is played by Mary Beth Evans in Days of Our Lives. Kayla is the third youngest among the natural Brady children, Roman, Kim and Bo. She has five siblings and is married to Steven Johnson whom she met when she was a nurse in the clinic that she set up in Riverfront. She had a daughter with him named Stephanie.
