James Reynolds was born on August 10, 1950 in Oskaloosa, Kansas. As a kid he was active in school plays and sports like football, basketball and track. After high school he joined the Marines and was assigned to the Information Service Office, stationed in Hawaii. There he became a reporter for the service newspaper, The Windward Marine. After being reassigned, he went back to the States and continued studying. He majored in pre-law and journalism at Topeka's Washburn University. There he also auditioned and performed in plays, discovering his passion for acting. His television appearances were in Generations and in Days of Our Lives, for which he is most popular.
Abe Carver is played by James Reynolds in Days of Our Lives. Abe was a police officer who investigated Anna Brady's claimed of being sold to white slavery and the existence of her secret Swiss bank account to her husband, Roman. He was also involved in the investigation of Tony DiMera's murder and a massive conflict with Brandon Walker who accused Abe of ruining his family's life. Abe's true love was Alexandra "Lexie" Brooks, with whom he had a son with.
