Soap fans will soon have to bid farewell to Morgan as Kristen Renton exits
Days of our Lives. According to
Soaps.com, the Colorado native who turns 26 on September 14, has been let go from the daytime drama. And while there is no official word yet of her departure, some reports are hinting that her southern belle character will soon be leaving Salem and move to Chicago.
Renton joined the cast of
Days of our Lives in 2007 as the president of Alpha Chi Theta, where she became a sorority sister to Chelsea and Stephanie at Salem University. She quickly forged a friendship with Chelsea and Stephanie, eventually dated Max Brady much to the dismay of Stephanie, who still harbored feelings for Max, and was involved in the Ford Decker storyline. Most recently, she was seen in a budding relationship with Philip that seems to be deteriorating as she discovers Paul's involvement with her father.
With so many possible plots to explore for Morgan, many are surprised to hear that Renton has been let go from the program.
Since moving to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career, Renton has landed roles in films like
Ghouls, In the Mix, and
Come Away Home. On TV, she has been credited on
CSI: NY, The O.C., Maybe It's Me, To Have and to Hold, The Andy Dick Show, Scratch and Burn and
Now What? Moreover, she was cast in
The Sausage Factory, where she appeared as Nancy in 13 episodes.
Meanwhile, Kristen Renton isn't the only actress on
Days of our Lives who will soon be leaving the long running soap. According to show insiders, another female cast member has been let go from
Days of our Lives, while a beloved veteran is reportedly on the bubble. Stay tuned for more updates!
