Days of our Lives: May 9 Live Thoughts
Days of our Lives: May 9 Live Thoughts
Days of our Lives continues directly from the end of yesterday's episode.  John (Drake Hogestyn) was in the middle of looking for the minidisc on his desk, but now it is nowhere to be found.  Marlena (Deidre Hall) thinks that Rolf might know something about it.

Lexie (Renee Jones) goes down to the gym to talk to Daniel, who is in the middle of a vigorous workout.  Lexie has another patient that she wants him to consult on, but he immediately says he's not interesting, thinking that it's Ava and not wanting to stick around in Salem anyway.

At the pub, Victor (John Aniston) invites Chelsea (Rachel Melvin) to move back in with him.  They are interrupted by Nicole, who storms in and calls Victor a monster.

Abe (James Reynolds) and Roman (Josh Taylor) are reluctant to assign Bo to the Martino Vitali case.  Instead, Hope (Kristian Alfonso) wants to work the case herself.
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

Abe and Roman are good with Hope taking the Vitali case, because she's a good cop, but Bo (Peter Reckell) thinks it's too dangerous for her.  Hope tells Bo that when they are at work, he should address her as Detective Brady, not Hope.  Yeah, you go, girl!  Abe tosses Bo a bone, and let's him help out with the case from the sidelines.  They spend the rest of the episode of Days of our Lives brainstorming ways that they can get to Martino or Ava, but eventually, Abe gives Bo and Hope one day off to go home and spend some time together before the real investigation begins.

Nicole complains to Victor that her little dog was poisoned and accuses him of doing the deed.  She rushes off in a huff.  Chelsea asks Victor if he can help her convince Daniel to stay in town.  Victor is reluctant.  He knows something about Daniel's past, but he doesn't feel at liberty to share it with Chelsea.  She needles him and even admits that she is falling in love with Daniel.  Against his better judgment, Victor decides to tell her, in the strictest of confidence, that Daniel lost his wife Rebecca who was also a patient, when he lost objectivity.

EJ (James Scott) is on the phone with someone, outside of the pub, instructing the mystery person to do as he or she is told.  When Nicole rushes out, she runs right into EJ.  She tells him her sob story about her dog Pookie who is in intensive care at the animal hospital.  She does a very convincing damsel in distress act, and digs into her purse to show him pictures of the dog.  He's very sympathetic, and eventually, gives her a hug to make her feel better.  She gets all "woe is me," and EJ comforts her.  So naturally, this is the perfect time for Sami to walk by and catch them.  She is pissed off to see EJ cozying up to Nicole, so she lays a big kiss on EJ as a means of marking her territory.

At the gym, Lexie continues trying to convince Daniel to stay, but he says that something terrible happened the last time he got close to a patient.  After his workout, he goes to the gym cafe for a bottle of water, and Lexie follows him to apologize.  She wants to talk about his past, and he finally opens up.  The patient he alluded to before wasn't just a patient; she was his wife.  He tells her \sob story.  He entered a very, very dark time in his life after Rebecca's death.  He can't let himself go through that all over again with Chelsea, but Lexie says he can't run away from love.

Rolf plays dumb and claims to have no idea where the disc is.  John isn't so sure that Rolf is the culprit, however, because he thinks that it might be EJ.  Actually, he's suspicious of everyone.  John wants to talk about the burgeoning feelings between himself and Marlena, but she doesn't want to talk about it.  Sami (Alison Sweeney) advises her not to avoid John.

John gets on the phone with a private investigator to come in and investigate the theft of the disc.  Marlena reminds him that the old John would have investigated the theft himself, but he says that the old John is no more.  He gets angry when Marlena refers to him as "Stefano's secret project."  Then, they both apologize to each other.  She offers to let him talk about it, but he doesn't want to talk.  She respects his wishes, but makes it clear that she considers him so much more than just another patient.

John questions Rolf about the whereabouts of his watch.  There are more items missing besides the disc.  John suspects that Rolf didn't take the disc because he would have replaced it with a phony.  Marlena goes over to the station to report a break-in to Roman.  He can't file an official report, however, because she's not technically the victim.  Roman agrees to check it out off the record.

In the steam room at the gym, Daniel daydreams about kissing Chelsea.  Chelsea herself wanders into the gym, looking for Daniel.  She goes over to the steam room and tells him that she knows what happened with his wife.

Next on Days of our Lives: Sami needs to talk to Lucas, Chelsea confronts Daniel.
