Days of our Lives: May 30 Live Thoughts
Days of our Lives: May 30 Live Thoughts
Days of our Lives continues today at Chez Rouge for Nick's celebratory dinner.  Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) muse about why both Chelsea and Max high-tailed it out of there so suddenly.  Well, they figured that Chelsea felt uncomfortable because she broke up with Nick, but they are still confused about Max.  Stephanie (Shelley Hennig) finds Max (Darin Brooks) and asks him why.

Abe (James Reynolds) has taken John (Drake Hogestyn) into custody at the police station.  John is chomping at the bit, trying to convince Abe to let him go.  At home, Marlena (Deidre Hall) gets a visitor.

Marlena's visitor is Ava Vitali.  Ava wants to be Marlena's patient.  Marlena says that it's inappropriate for her to come to her home unannounced, so she should call her secretary to set up an appointment.  But Ava is desperate.  She begs for Marlena to listen to her, so Marlena finally relents.  Marlena tells her that she might not be the best person to help her since she was on the plane that Ava tampered with and she is very close to all of Ava's victims.  However, Marlena says that she took an oath to help people in need, so she decides to listen.  Ava reminds her and everyone watching Days of our Lives that all of her crazy, psychotic behavior was because her father paid her former psychiatrist to drug her.  Ava is wracked with guilt, and Marlena says that she has to take responsibility for her actions.  Marlena believes Ava's story about her father.  Another problem Ava has is, now that she has to start her life over again, she doesn't know who she is or what she wants anymore.  Now that she's off the meds, she realizes that she may not love "Patch" after all, so she has no reason to live anymore.  Ava thanks Marlena for her time and promises to call her office in the morning.

Roman (Josh Taylor) and Kate (Lauren Koslow) show up at Chez Rouge and decide to join Bo and Hope for dinner.  They make small talk about Martino Vitali, and Kate says that she never knew what a monster he was way back when.  Across the room, Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) shrieks with excitement to find out that Anna (Leann Hunley) and Tony (Thaao Penghlis) are married again.  The re-newlyweds are back from their honeymoon in Bora Bora.  Anna and Tony join the other two couples for a triple date.  Anna asks Kate and Roman if they are back together again and if they are planning on getting married.  Hope changes the subject by bringing up Maggie's green certification.  Anna is all annoying about her new status as (re-)married woman, causing Kate to roll her eyes.  All three couples decide to dance.  Kate gives Anna and Tony two weeks tops.  Anna asks Tony if he slept with Kate before they were married.  Ugh.  Hope asks Anna if she's planning to quit her job and start working for Tony, now that they are married again.  Anna replies that she is putting her career on hold for the time being.  Way to be a modern woman, Anna.

Abe questions John, but John insists that it was Philip Kiriakis who planted the drugs on his ships.  Alone in the holding room, John paces back and forth, back and forth, trying the door and looking agitated.  Marlena visits John, who lashes out at her for sedating him.  She says that she was afraid John would get hurt and that's why she did it.  She asks him whether he brought those drugs to Salem, but he says that Philip framed him.  Marlena observes that he has been behaving like a criminal, even though, in her gut, she believes that he is innocent.  Before she leaves, John thanks her, and she tells him that she loves him.

At the pub, Max tells Stephanie that he left Chez Rouge because he was looking like a mess from working at the pier and Chez Rouge is a fancy place.  Stephanie asks him whether it was really because he was jealous of all the accolades that Nick was getting from the dean when Max did all the work.  She asks him why he didn't tell her that he's some kind of mathematical genius.  She asks him where he learned it.  He says that it's not a big deal, but he's always been good with numbers.  She wants him to 'fess up and tell her everything about himself.  Ava interrupts the conversation by showing at the pub, and Stephanie tells her that she's not welcome there.  Stephanie yells at her to leave.  After she leaves. Stephanie continues her fight with Max, but they leave everything unresolved.

Next on Days of our Lives: EJ and Nicole are still drunk, Abe and Roman show John some incriminating evidence, and Chloe snoops through Philip's belongings.
