On today's Days of our Lives
, EJ (James Scott
) rings Sami's (Alison Sweeney
) doorbell and remarks cattily on the sweats that she is wearing. Please, man, the woman gave birth to twins and now has to take care of them alone. I think she gets to wear sweats now and then. He has come over with annulment papers, and all she has to do is sign them.
Kayla (Mary Beth Evans
) has finally convinced Steve (Stephen Nichols
) to let her go outside, but he's anxious to take her back inside the apartment. Ava (Tamara Braun) is still staring at the photographs of Steve and his family that she took and talks to herself about it. She still thinks that Hope is Kayla. We also find out that she is being locked up in the apartment by her father and the rest of her family, and she wants out.
Chelsea (Rachel Melvin
) is at the park, feeding peanuts to the squirrels, something that she and Grandpa Shawn used to do when he was alive, as if squirrels need to be fed. She turns and wipes her nose on this random guy's pants. Weird. He subtly comes on to Chelsea and offers his other pant leg for her nose. He gets a call on his cell phone and runs off. Chelsea immediately gets self-conscious about the way she acted with the dude.
Hope (Kristian Alfonso
) and Shawn (Brandon Beemer
) are visiting Bo (Peter Reckell
) in the hospital. Hope is frustrated that Bo and Shawn are talking like Bo's about to die and she wants them to stop. Victor (John Aniston) walks in and agrees with Hope. Victor found an expert diagnostician/internist all rolled into one who is here in Salem giving a seminar. Ooh, is this the Days of our Lives
crossover? Salem University Hospital definitely needs Hugh Laurie
and company to whip their sorry asses into gear. Lexie (Renee Jones) comes in and isn't happy to hear that Victor wants to replace her. Victor assures her that he's not trying to take over Lexie's case. He tells everyone, and Chelsea who has just joined them, that he is merely bringing in a diagnostician, who just so happens to be the dude Chelsea met in the park. His name is Dr. Daniel Jonas and he's Victor's godson. And
, he's totally Dr. House because he's wearing jeans and a hooded sweatshirt instead of scrubs. Daniel promises that he'll do whatever it takes to make sure that Bo is around for a long, long time.
Lexie is upset that Victor would be so presumptuous, especially since Daniel seems unconventional to her. Hope thanks Victor for bringing his friend in. Later on, Chelsea and Daniel sit down to talk again.
Sami scrutinizes the annulment papers carefully to make sure that everything is above board. EJ also says that now that he is disowned by the DiMeras, he'll have to get a job. Sami ridicules him, asking him if he's going to work in a fast food restaurant. She makes it clear that she doesn't any alimony from him; all she wants is to get out of this marriage. Just a tip, honey, no body believes you! She notices that EJ is still carrying around the registered letter he received earlier and demands that he open it. It's bad news: his visa is expired and he could get kicked out of the country. Sami suggests that he use the fact that he's married to an American and is the father of an American to get a new visa, and that she'll sign the annulment papers once he has his visa situation sorted out. Yeah, right.
Kayla and Steve are still down by the docks, admiring the view. Steve immediately gets jumpy when a dude in a hooded sweatshirt walks by. They reminisce about when they get married, and we get a sepia-toned flashback to their wedding, in which Steve is wearing a bollo tie with a tuxedo shirt. Awesome! Steve then silently remembers the time he spent with Ava while he was known as Patch, and how she wanted to marry him.
In her prison, Ava is screaming and making a big to-do and demands that her captors slip her the names of all of the women who were on the plane in Ireland. They write down the names and slip it under the door, and that is how Ava finds out that Steve's wife's name is Kayla.
