Days of our Lives: March 19 Live Thoughts
Days of our Lives: March 19 Live Thoughts
Lexie (Renee Jones) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) continue to prep Bo (Peter Reckell) for surgery today on Days of our Lives.  Hope (Kristian Alfonso) finally considers the risk that the operation would have on Chelsea.  Out in the waiting room, John (Drake Hogestyn) contemplates the terrible luck that continues to befall the Bradys.

Kate (Lauren Koslow) stays by Chelsea's (Rachel Melvin) side as her granddaughter fills out the required consent forms.  She reminds Chelsea that Bo loves her already and she doesn't need to repay him for anything.  Dr. Daniel pops his head in the door to ask Chelsea one more time if she is really willing to risk her life.

Shawn (Brandon Beemer) is upset that he couldn't give up his pancreas for his dear old dad.  Belle (Martha Madison) reminds him that he already told Bo that he has to get better so that he and Belle and Claire can go sailing around the world.

Chelsea tells Kate and Daniel that she has made up her mind and she wants to be her father's donor.  There's no way they are talking her out of it.  She explains that she was such a big pain in Bo's ass, and now it's her turn to return the favor.  She decisively signs her paperwork and tells them that she is ready.  Kate tells Chelsea that she is so proud of her and that her courage is amazing.  But Chelsea dismisses the compliment by saying that she is scared as hell.

Finally!  At long last!  After weeks of lead-up, the powers that be on Days of our Lives are finally bringing us to the surgery.  Bo is wheeled into the OR, and all of his family members wishing him luck.

But wait!  Chelsea isn't sedated yet, so I think we have a while yet.  Nick (Blake Berris) shows up with a good luck teddy bear.  He tells Chelsea that she doesn't have to go through with it and there's still time to change her mind.  Hope stops Chelsea as she is being taken to the OR and thanks her for donating her pancreas.  The nurse wheels Chelsea past Bo's gurney, and Chelsea asks to stop so that she can say a few pre-op words to Bo.  Stuff about how she is giving up her pancreas even though he didn't want her to go through with it.

Okay, now, I can say finally!  Finally!  Everyone is settling into their respective ORs.  The surgeon calls for the scalpel and begins cutting Chelsea open.  Everyone is out in the waiting room.  Steve (Stephen Nichols) plays cards with Stephanie (Shelley Hennig), Max (Darin Brooks) and Nick.  Shelley Hennig did something with her hair and I don't like it.  It's blonder than usual, which gives her hair and complexion an unsettling monotone look.  And, you know, I get that everyone is worried about Bo and Chelsea, but don't they, like, have jobs to go to?

Kate sidles up to John and re-introduces herself as his ex-fiancée.  He's all impressed with himself for almost scoring such a fox.  She gives him a talking-to about trying to go up against the Kiriakises.

Chelsea's surgeon finds that her pancreas is viable for transplant, so the other team of doctors begin cutting Bo open.  Chelsea's doc cuts out the appropriate part of her pancreas and puts it into a cooler for a nurse to take over to Bo's OR.

John and Marlena go for a stroll on the pier.  She's still working on him, trying to get him to care about his family.  John gets a call on his cell from Paul Hollingsworth regarding the arrangements he wanted with respect to Kiriakis shipping.  John says that he'll have to call him back, not wanting to discuss his underhanded business practices in front of Marlena.  Once he gets off the phone, he lies to Marlena, saying that it was Stefano's lawyer who needs John to sign more papers.

The family is all relieved to learn that Chelsea's part in the transplant went very well.  Now, they just have to wait to see if Bo's body will accept the transplant.

Next on Days of our Lives: Philip realizes that he'll never see Claire if Belle and Shawn take her and move away, Anna wants Tony's assistant, Chelsea wakes up from surgery and asks if Bo is okay.
