Days of our Lives: June 12 Live Thoughts
Days of our Lives: June 12 Live Thoughts
Days of our Lives begins immediately where yesterday's left off.  Nick (Blake Berris) tells Dean Robbins that he is giving back his grant money because Max (Darin Brooks) is the one who deserves it.  Nick is really pissed off at Max for manipulating him.

Morgan comes back to the Kiriakis mansion and walks in on Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) and Philip (Jay Kenneth Johnson) kissing.  Morgan feels embarrassed, Chloe wants to tell her something.

At the DiMera mansion, John (Drake Hogestyn) finished giving Ava a tour of the mansion.  Elsewhere, Sami (Alison Sweeney) asks Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) what he did tonight.  She's onto him about sneaking out of the house, but he lies and says he was home all night.  Sami makes it clear that she will love him no matter what he does, and she wants him to tell her the truth.

Unfortunately, Lucas can't trust Sami anymore because she slept with EJ.  Sami offers to keep a secret to prove that she's trustworthy.  They start screaming at each other, and John breaks up the argument.  He tells them to leave the room.  The doorbell rings, and Rolf, trying to speak with an American accent, sees Hope (Kristian Alfonso) in.  She has some bad news.  A fire broke out in a warehouse where all of John's shipments are impounded, near the docks.  Everything was destroyed; it was a total loss.  John immediately knows that Philip was behind it.  John wants to go down there to investigate the fire himself, but Hope doesn't think it's a good idea.  She also warns Ava to watch herself.  Hope leaves, and Ava and John begin to get amorous.  She finds his "taking care of business" demeanor very sexy and they kiss.

Lucas starts acting shifty, and Sami bugs him to tell her his secret.  He nosewhistles that he has nothing to say to her right now.  He remembers that he ran into Paul Hollingsworth at the docks when he snuck out, but he's not ready to share that info with anyone yet, least of all Sami.

Chloe tells Morgan that she has to stay away from Philip because anyone involved in the John vs. Philip war is in danger.  Philip gets a phone call from Paul Hollingsworth.  Paul says that he has completed the task, and John will never know what hit him.  Bo (Peter Reckell) tells Philip about the fire in the warehouse.  Arson is suspected and Philip's name came up as a possible suspect.  Morgan leaves immediately to check on her father, and Bo questions Philip about the fire.  After Bo leaves, Chloe asks too, which leads Philip to the conclusion that Chloe doesn't trust him.  Very abruptly, Chloe changes the subject to Morgan.  Philip assures Chloe that she's the only one for him, but she doesn't believe him.  They kiss, and then make plans to get together later that night.

At the pub, Dean Robbins tells Nick to review the changes that Max made, and if he still feels like he wants to return the grant money, they can talk about it later.  Robbins and Max exchange unpleasantries.  Nick takes Max somewhere to talk in private.  Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) comes in and Stephanie confides in her about her concerns over Max.  She tells her about Max's inexplicable genius.

Nick and Max head over to the docks.  (They hear sirens from the fire that broke out in the warehouse.)  Max finally confesses that he is some kind of genius.  I guess we're expected to believe that he's all Good Will Hunting?  Riiight.  Max doesn't like this part about himself because he doesn't deal well with being smart.  Nick wants to take him to the university and take an IQ test.  Max lashes out at him, insisting that he doesn't want to go to college to be poked and prodded.  Everyone in his family either owns bars or works as cops.  What is this?  Days of our Lives, circa 1954?

Max and Nick come back to the pub, and Kayla asks Max if he wants to talk about his problems.  Bo and Hope meet up at the pub after their respective meetings with Philip and John.  Kayla catches up with them, and they immediately see that she's upset.  She says it's about Max and Stephanie.  What is Dean Robbins still doing at the pub??  Max quietly whispers to the dean that he better let Nick finish his prototype, or else he'll tell the world what a fraud his is.

Philip is very upset with Paul because he never wanted him to burn down the whole warehouse.  Chloe goes to the pier and figures out that Lucas must have been there too, which is how he saw that she was crying on yesterday's Days of our Lives.

Ava breaks off the kiss and says she has to go.  She asks John why he didn't listen to his instincts and quash Philip like a bug sooner.  "Because I didn't want him to," Marlena (Deidre Hall) says, walking into the room.  Dun dun DUN!

Next on Days of our Lives: Nicole wants EJ's respect, Stephanie wants Max to tell her the truth again, Victor is upset that Philip would stoop to arson.
