Days of our Lives: January 28 Live Thoughts
Days of our Lives: January 28 Live Thoughts
Previously on Days of our Lives, Marlena (Deidre Hall) secretly gave Stefano (Joseph Mascolo) some drugs that put him to sleep.  On today's Days of our Lives, she is still in cell with him, trying to see if she can revive him.  She uses some smelling salts on him and gets him to open his eyes.

Roman (Josh Taylor) and Abe (James Reynolds) tell Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) about how Shawn beat up Rob.  Abe thinks that Shawn's reckless behavior should keep him from becoming a full-fledged cop, but he's going to look the other way.  Is there anyone left in the Salem PD who has even a shred of a conscience anymore?  Hope also announces to everyone that she's re-joining the force.

At the pub, Chelsea (Rachel Melvin) is about to confess to Crawford Decker what happened to his son.

Meanwhile, John (Drake Hogestyn) tries to sweet-talk the nurse to get him out of his cuffs, but no luck.

Marlena explains to Stefano that she gave him muscle relaxants, not aspirin, which are preventing him from moving his muscles.  He's still conscious and can speak, however.  She injects him with a drug and explains that it's a neural muscular blocker which will completely and permanently incapacitate him.  It's completely untraceable, and the doctors will think that he's had a stroke.  He will be doomed to a life of being locked up inside his brain.  I guess, if you're up against a foe who can't be killed, as Stefano is, incapacitating him is the way to go.  Darn, I thought there was going to be torture involved.  Oh well!  But she does look awfully evil throughout because she monologues steadily while injecting him.

Chelsea catches all us viewers up on the Ford storyline by explaining the events that led up to Ford's death.  Crawford whips himself up into a fury and has to be forcibly restrained by Steve (Stephen Nichols).

Abe and Roman interrogate Rob, who says that he doesn't know where Claire is.  He doesn't know who he's working for, but Crystal hated Stefano and ordered him to stay as far away from Stefano as possible.

Marlena asks Stefano one more time what John's mission was.

Chelsea tries to convince Crawford that his son's death was an accident.  He doesn't believe her, of course, and wants to know what they did with his body.

John flashbacks on his time spent in Stefano's basement lab while, at the same time, Marlena gives Stefano one more chance to come clean about John's mission.  He doesn't answer, so Marlena finishes him off by injecting the muscular blocker into the back of his head.  This means that he won't be able to move or talk, and people will think he's comatose.  The thing is, his eyelids are still open.  Now that's cruel--his eyeballs will dry out and there won't be anything he can do about it.  His finals words before he goes completely frozen are taunts that Marlena will never know what the mission is until it's over.

Rob tells Roman and Abe that Crystal had an alias: Desiree Wilson.

Chelsea says that she doesn't know where Ford's body is buried, and Crawford demands to know who was the man who wore Ford's clothes and left the house.  Crawford leaves the pub after vowing that whoever was involved and whoever gets in his way will pay.

After copious amounts of monologuing, Marlena tells the guard that Stefano just had a stroke.

Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) and Steve call Max (Darin Brooks) over to the pub.  Max admits unprompted that he was the one who helped the girls and buried Ford's body.

Hope and Bo go to see Belle (Martha Madison) who is still at the hospital.  They tell her that Desiree Wilson (aka Crystal) flew to Ireland this morning with a little girl.

Max refuses to tell anyone where he put the body because that's the only way he can protect the girls.  Steve and Nick (Blake Berris) agree.

Bo and Hope tell Belle and Shawn (Brandon Beemer) that they booked a flight to Ireland, and they're not coming home without Claire.  Philip (Jay Kenneth Johnson) plans to take a private jet to Ireland as well.

Marlena goes to the hospital to tell John that she has taken care of Stefano.  John says that he remembers a word, "Aubin," which is the name a priest who grew up in Ireland.  He knows that his mission requires him to go there.  Marlena offers to help him, against her better judgment.

The episode ends with a frozen Stefano being attended to by the prison guards.  Only, the camera catches Joseph Mascolo blinking.  Oops.

Next on Days of our Lives: Bo and Hope go to Ireland, Marlena knows that John is lying, the doctors examine Stefano.
