Days of our Lives: February 5 Live Thoughts
Days of our Lives: February 5 Live Thoughts
Continuing immediately from the end of yesterday's Days of our Lives, John Black (Drake Hogestyn) is poised to slit Colleen (Shirley Jones) in the throat.  Also, continuing from yesterday's Days of our Lives, Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) and Steve (Stephen Nichols) tell Bo (Peter Reckell) about his troubling test results from his physical exam.  They don't quite get around to telling him what he has because Hope (Kristian Alfonso) comes scampering down the stairs.

At Victor Kiriakis' (John Aniston), Roman (Josh Tayor) arrives to tell Chelsea (Rachel Melvin), Kate (Lauren Koslow) and Billie (Julie Pinson) that the autopsy report came back from the coroner's office: Ford Decker died from falling down the stairs.

Shawn (Brandon Beemer) puts little Claire to bed and thinks about all the recent events, beginning with Claire's frightening kidnapping at the dock, to sitting by Belle's (Martha Madison) bedside at the hospital.  Belle joins Shawn in Claire's room. He suspects that Steve and Kayla's presence in Ireland bodes something bad. He feels it, but Belle tries to assuage his worries.

Steve says that he wants to go look at the Irish countryside and asks if anyone wants to join him. Bo wants to have a cup o' tea and catch up with his sis, so Steve invites Hope outside to join him.  In private, Kayla tells Bo some medicalese, which in layman's terms means his condition is "alarming." She doesn't to say anymore about it until she gets more tests done. Out on the veranda, Hope asks Steve what's going on with Bo and Kayla. She's astute, that one. Steve just tells her to give Bo some space right now.

At Kiriakis manor, Roman explains that just because the coroner's report matches Chelsea's story, that doesn't mean she is off the hook. Crawford Decker wants to blame someone for it and he'll continue to go after Chelsea. But Victor says that he has spoken to Crawford and the matter is all taken care of. Roman doesn't want to know what he did to change Crawford's mind, but he'll take it. The doorbell rings and Crawford shows up. Victor had asked him over so that he could hear the results of the autopsy. Crawford starts to mouth off to Kate and Billie, so Victor, in menacing Kiriakis fashion, takes him aside and tells him to apologize to his granddaughter Chelsea.

Victor calls Philip (Jay Kenneth Johnson) to get the scoop on Claire. Victor offers to find out as much on Colleen Brady as he can. Victor still thinks that Colleen is behind Brady Black's disappearance, but Philip thinks that her intentions are good. Victor also asks when he's getting back because he needs the plane. After they get off the phone, Victor calls Bo to tell him the good news that Chelsea and Stephanie are in the clear, and also that he needs the jet back in Salem because Crawford needs it. After his phone calls, Victor escorts Crawford back out to the others and supervises as Crawford apologizes to Chelsea. She apologizes back.

Billie makes an offhand remark about how she's out of a job now because the university fired her. Victor immediately offers her another one as head of security for his London office. Since we all know that Julie Pinson is being written off the show, she accepts the offer immediately.

In Colleen's room, John says that he's been programmed by Stefano to kill Colleen, and if he doesn't, he'll never find peace.  Marlena (Deidre Hall) begs John not to kill Colleen and grabs his leg to keep him from attacking. John flings her off handily and goes after the old woman. But at the last second, Colleen tells him that she's his mother. Not that we all didn't already know that. He doesn't believe it, so she shows him her medallion necklace. Marlena recognizes it as the Celtic woman warrior symbol, and pulls out the old photograph of her wearing it. Colleen confirms that that is her and young John in the photo. John immediately pulls away, a look of consternation (or is it constipation?) on his face, and Marlena asks Colleen to explain how she is John's mother.

Colleen explains that she found out she was pregnant shortly after she faked her death, and then ran off to Argentina. She didn't have any money so she had no choice but to put him in an orphanage. She was planning to retrieve him as soon as she found a job, but she suffered an untimely sewing machine accident and was hospitalized for months. By the time she got out, John was no longer at the orphanage, and there were no records of where he went. She spent her life looking for him and only recently found out that he was adopted by the Alamains. She feared what they would have done to him if they had known he was a half-brother to Stefano DiMera. John hadn't figured out that he was related to Stefano before this, so his brow gets even more furrowed. This also means that Stefano sent his brother to kill his father's lover. And, this also means that Colleen was Stefano's nemesis who has been sending him threatening letters using letters cut out from a magazine. Colleen is pretty handy with a glue-gun, eh? Conflicted, John runs out of the room and out of the inn.

Next on Days of our Lives: Marlena is worried that John is a walking time bomb, John fondles his knife.
