On today's Days of our Lives
, people are still in shock to see Colleen Brady (Shirley Jones) in the flesh, as any fool can plainly see. Oh, that Oirish brogue!
Back in Salem, Max (Darin Brooks
) has come forward and told Crawford where he buried the body. Chelsea (Rachel Melvin
) is still worried that Crawford is going to pursue some kind of legal action against her or Max. Speaking of the devil, Mr. Decker walks into the pub to tell Chelsea, Max, Stephanie (Shelley Hennig
) and Nick (Blake Berris
) that he's just come from the morgue to see Ford's body and he's had a change of heart.
Sami (Alison Sweeney
) is in the safehouse trying to soothe baby Ali who is sick. She gets a call from Lucas (Bryan Dattilo
) in jail. We can tell he's still in jail because he is now sporting the most ridiculous mustache ever. It's just one small step before he buys a top hat and a cane. Anyway, it's a mostly pointless conversation in which Lucas asks why Ali is crying (um, because she's a baby?) and gives Sami and Lucas the opportunity to exposit about why he's in the slammer. As they argue, and as Sami admits to still loving Lucas, EJ (James Scott
) comes home and hears everything. When she's off the phone, she accuses EJ of eavesdropping. He says he wasn't, and also says that they won't be living in their safehouse cabin for very much longer. Stefano is no longer a threat because he's in a coma, so they finally get to go home.
Meanwhile, Lucas decides to confess to Roman (Josh Taylor
) and Abe (James Reynolds
) for shooting EJ with the intent to kill. He doesn't want to go to trial; he just wants to serve his time and get it over with. Abe asks him why he wants to do this, and Lucas nosewhistles that it's because Sami knows he's guilty, so there's no use fighting it and wasting taxpayers' money. He's just hoping that the judge will be lenient and reduce his sentence for good behavior. Lucas calls Sami again and asks her to visit him in jail so that he can say good-bye, as he will soon be leaving for the state pen.
In Oireland, Colleen doesn't provide a DNA test to prove her identity to the incredulous Salemites, but instead offers the next best thing: she tells them to look into her eyes and see that they haven't changed. She says that she faked her death fifty years ago and has been keeping an eye on the goings-on in Salem for the past year. After her faked suicide, she moved to another part of Oireland, changed her name and made a living as a seamstress. Then, she went to South America. Hm, this means that she must have some kind of connection to John's mother who was in the old photo that Marlena found. Or maybe she is
John's mother! I'm trying to see how that would affect the already convoluted Days of our Lives
family tree, but it's too complicated for me to wrap my mind around. Colleen calls Crystal to bring Claire out. Everyone has a tearful, joyful reunion, and while everyone is distracted with the little munchkin, John sneaks over to Colleen's side and pulls out his knife. He's about to strike when Marlena approaches, so he has no choice but to put it away. He's awfully stiff. Don't people notice how stiff he is?
Bo demands to know why Colleen would kidnap Claire and threatens to press charges, but the old lady is not to be stopped. She says angrily that she was protecting her loved ones, including Brady Black. Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) demands to know where Brady is, and Colleen says that she sent Rob and Crystal to Austria to bring him into safekeeping, but he disappeared before they could find him. Then she turns the question back on Chloe and asks if Chloe has any idea where Brady is? Chloe is looking awfully guilty right now, but she says she doesn't know where he might be.
Crawford tells the girls that he is going to call the D.A. and charge Chelsea with murder. I'm not sure how the law works, but are you allowed to renege on a deal like that? Billie (Julie Pinson
) and Kate (Lauren Koslow
) rush over to the pub, and Kate has a plan for what Chelsea should do. Kate, Billie and Chelsea pay a visit to Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston). They explain the Ford situation, and Victor tells Chelsea to consider the matter taken care of. Just like that. Because he's a Kiriakis, don'cha know? He gets on the phone and makes magic happen. Chelsea asks Victor to make calls on Max's behalf as well. He promises that if Max is charged, he will make sure that he won't get more than a slap on the wrist. Later, Victor pays a visit to Crawford.
Next on Days of our Lives
