Days of our Lives: August 28 Live Thoughts
Days of our Lives: August 28 Live Thoughts
Days of our Lives opens today in the Brady Pub.  Steve (Stephen Nichols) tells Caroline (Peggy McCay) that he is opening up shop as a private investigator.

In Marseilles, Max (Darin Brooks) and Stephanie (Shelley Hennig) are still locked up.  Melanie has come back with candy bars for Max and Stephanie and the news that she can't get her gal pal Tiffany to come back and drop the charges.  Max threatens to call Trent for bail money.  Meanwhile, Trent calls up Nick Fallon (Blake Berris) who has come to France to help out his bro Max.  Trent offers to overnight him some important papers and wants to know where he is staying - a transparent way of finding out if Nick is in France.

At the hospital, Chelsea (Rachel Melvin) continues her public fight with Daniel and Kate (Lauren Koslow) from yesterday's Days of our Lives.  Daniel admits that he and Kate slept together, but it is over between them.  Chelsea needs time to think, and then is interrupted when Theo runs towards her.  Lexie (Renee Jones) runs after him and scolds him for running away.  Chelsea demands to know why Daniel slept with her grandmother, but Daniel said it didn't mean anything and it happened long before he and Chelsea got together.

Later on, Lexie wants to know what's going with him and Chelsea.  He doesn't want to talk about it, though, but she basically forces him to spill.  He says that he hooked up with Kate while Chelsea and Bo were his patients.  And then, Lexie tries to pry into Chelsea's personal life too. She gives the unsolicited advice that there are always two sides to a story.  Chelsea finds Daniel and Kate and wants to know exactly what happened between them.

At the pub, Caroline tells Steve that she's really proud of him for starting his own business, especially since it'll allow Kayla to cut back on her hours at the hospital to spend time with the baby.  Steve and Caroline realize that neither Stephanie nor Max has called them in a while, but they figure that everything must be fine.  When is anything ever fine??

In France, Nick thinks quickly and gets off the phone before divulging his whereabouts to Trent.  Later on, Trent hires Steve to track down Nick.  Steve gets worried because he knows Nick.  (He knows that Nick is in France with Max and Stephanie, but he doesn't say so.)  Trent says that he knows Stephanie and Max.  Steve lies, covering his tracks, and says that he doesn't very much like Max.  After Trent leaves, Steve tells Caroline that he's taking the case in order to keep an eye on him.

Melanie susses out that there is something Max is hiding about his relationship to Trent.  She calls his bluff and tells him to go ahead and call Trent.  Saved by the bell: Tiffany walks into the police station.  Melanie convinces her to drop the charges by using Max's fame as a racecar driver, but only if he agrees to go out with Tiffany.  Melanie pretends that Stephanie is Max's cousin.  Stephanie and Nick have dinner a few tables away from Max and Tiffany.  Over at Tiffany's table, she tells Max that she knows that Stephanie is Max's girlfriend.  She is not trying to steal him away, but she is just having fun.  She was going to drop the charges anyway.  She also warns him that Melanie is horrible and he should catch the next flight out of there.  Also, despite what she said earlier, she kisses him, which of course, Stephanie sees.

Melanie interrupts Nick and Steph's dinner to lay her gold-digging hooks into him.

Steve gives Stephanie a call to tell her about his conversation with Trent.  He also tells her that he's coming to get her, but Stephanie says that she's taking the next flight out of there.  Steph goes and interrupts Tiffany's kiss.  She's not mad, though.  Good for her.

Next on Days of our Lives: Chelsea, Daniel and Kate have a rap session, Tony says something unintelligible about Stefano, Marlena goes missing.
