My Days of our Lives
live thoughts are back today. Apologies to everyone who was expecting them earlier this week, but I have been out of town. I missed Monday's and Tuesday's episodes and now I'm shocked to see that Marlena (Deidre Hall
) is all better and un-paralyzed. Well, I'm not all that surprised. But anyway, today's Days of our Lives
opens with John Black (Drake Hogestyn
) at her bedside in the hospital. He wants to get going on reviving their relationship, but that's not exactly what she wants.
John thinks that Marlena is under the influence of all her medication and not thinking clearly, but Marlena insists that she knows what she is saying. She says that she and John just met recently (since John came back from the dead a changed man), and they need to slow down. She's finally seeing things the way they really are, and she doesn't think she wants to spend the rest of her life with John. Roman (Josh Taylor
) comes in to check on Marlena and ends up acting like a mediator between her and John. It sorta looks like Marlena wants to go back to Roman, romantically speaking. Uh oh! John asks for a word with Roman outside and tells him to stay away from his wife. They go back inside and John pleads for Marlena to help him get the old John back. But since Stefano has the disc fragments of his memory, there is no getting him back. Marlena asks Roman to stay with her, but she wants John to go. Marlena still loves John, but she knows that she has to be careful. Roman says that since Stefano is still out there, he'll go home with her as her police guard.
John comes in for a last-ditch effort to convince Marlena to go back to the mansion with him. She says no.
Morgan (Kristen Renton) still believes that Philip (Jay Kenneth Johnson
) killed her father. She demands to know how he killed him, but Philip denies that he did anything except threaten him. Morgan admits that she still has feelings for him, though, despite what she believes that he's done.
Philip goes over to meet Bo (Peter Reckell
) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso
). He says that he wants to take responsibility for his deeds, even if it means getting arrested, and doesn't want Bo to take the blame anymore. But Bo thinks it's his responsibility. During their conversation, Philip gets served subpoena papers. During this whole thing, Hope goes and sits down with Morgan and talks to her in defense of Philip. Through the window, Morgan thinks she sees her father and runs outside to look for him. Hope tells Bo and Abe (James Reynolds
), as Paul Hollingsworth lurks about in the shadows. (Incidentally, Abe and Bo talk about how Bo still has the original tape of Philip threatening Paul, which Philip doesn't know about.)
Chelsea (Rachel Melvin
) sets up a romantic date with Daniel, with candles and everything. But at the hospital, Daniel is having a tense conversation with Kate (Lauren Koslow
) about how they have to keep their past romance a secret from Chelsea. Kate thinks that Chelsea already suspects something, but Daniel doesn't. After his conversation with Kate, he goes to meet Chelsea, who totally wants to do it with him. What? Instead of getting down, he gets into the shower - without her. Who would do that? While he's in the shower, he gets a text message on his cell, which she reads. As soon as Daniel gets out of the shower, she reams into him with angry words. The text message was from Kate and read, "Thank you for tonight, but I think it would be best if we never speak about what happened between us." Who writes texts like that? Anyway, now Chelsea thinks that Daniel is a son of a bitch and runs out of there.
Chelsea asks Kate to meet her at the hospital and tells her that she knows her and Daniel's secret. Daniel runs after her and assures her that even though he slept with Kate, what they had is now over.
John gets a call from one of his underlings that Paul Hollingsworth has been spotted. He can't believe that Paul managed to escape. Elsewhere, Abe puts out an APB.
Next on Days of our Lives
: Max gets kissed and Steve wants to warn Stephanie. Chelsea asks Kate why she slept with her boyfriend.
