Days of our Lives: April 22 Live Thoughts
Days of our Lives: April 22 Live Thoughts
On Days of our Lives today, Dr. Daniel Jonas gathers together Kate (Lauren Koslow), Nick (Blake Berris) and Victor (John Aniston) to share with them the results of Chelsea's (Rachel Melvin) medical tests.  Chelsea has peritonitis, a severe infection caused by leaking pancreatic fluid.  Lexie (Renee Jones) tries to call Bo one more time to tell him about Chelsea's health, but of course, she can't get through.

It's Earth Day today, so Days of our Lives is hammering in the green message.  (The TV screen hanging from the ceiling reads the words "Earth Day.")  Sami (Alison Sweeney) is working off some aggression on the treadmill at the gym.  An homage to The Biggest Loser, perhaps.  Nicole comes over and snits about Sami needing to lose her pregnancy pounds.  At the weights station, Morgan flirts with Philip (Jay Kenneth Johnson).

John (Drake Hogestyn) asks Paul Hollingsworth whether any of the Kiriakises ever tried to bribe him.

Paul tells John that both Victor and Philip separately offered to double whatever John was paying him, but Paul insists that he didn't take a penny from them, since he already had a deal with John.  John wants him to prove his loyalty to him.  John knows that there's nothing that Paul can do, so he takes advantage of that.

Philip tells Morgan that he knows for a fact that her father is taking bribes from John, but Morgan doesn't want to believe him.  They argue about what is best for her father, and Morgan tries to prove that she's a big girl and can take care of herself.  All the while, they are lustily looking each other up and down.  Now, this is a relationship I can get behind, mostly because if they make out, then we won't have to hear Morgan's silly fake Southern accent.  Morgan goes back to working out, and tells Philip that Chelsea collapsed and was taken to the hospital.  John has joined the rest of the Salem population at the gym and overhears this tidbit of news.

Nicole takes EJ away from his workout at the gym to ask him about the details of her divorce from Victor.  They rehash what we already know, and then EJ leaves to go check on the twins.  Sami catches them and unleashes her fury on Nicole for daring to breathe the same air as her twins.  Nicole snarks about the paternity of the twins, and Sami responds by decking her in the face.  Wow!  That was awesome!  I'm so on board with Sami!

Daniel has already gotten Chelsea started on an antibiotic treatment.  Kate makes him promise that he'll do his damnedest to make sure that Chelsea pulls through okay.  He orders a round of pro-biotics, and the nurse hesitates because she's never seen pro-biotics used for peritonitis.  Well, now she has.  Daniel gets the results of her CT scan back, and is beginning to figure out what to do.  Daniel fills her up with some kind of drug, and almost immediately, Chelsea's temperature begins to fall.  Kate apologizes for being so hard on Daniel before, and he accepts the apology while giving her come-hither eyes.  Wow, who knew that there could be a granddaughter and a grandmother as two vertices of a love triangle?  Chelsea chats about Daniel to Kate and Nick.  Nick, obviously, isn't too keen on hearing her blather on about a man who isn't him.

Chelsea wakes up and sees Daniel sitting on the windowsill.  He sits next to her and then confesses his love.  She tells him that she loves him too, and they kiss passionately.  Oof, it was just a dream, though.  Chelsea wakes up to find Nick sitting there.

Victor asks Lexie whether she's heard from Bo or Hope.  She hesitates, and Victor knows that she's hiding something.  He posits that the Vitali crime family may be involved with their disappearance.

At the gym, Philip finds out how Chelsea is doing for Morgan, who is worried about her friend.  He offers to use his status as family member to get her into the hospital to see Chelsea, and then asks her one more time to ask her father to stay away from John Black.  Meanwhile, across the room, John gets on the phone with Paul Hollingsworth.  He tells Paul that since Victor is preoccupied with a family emergency right now, it's the perfect opportunity for them to make their move against him.

Next on Days of our Lives: Marlena comes home, Kayla grows a set.
