Days of our Lives: April 2 Live Thoughts
Days of our Lives begins with Dr. Rolf reading aloud tongue twisters.  John (Drake Hogestyn) is still super-annoyed by his accent, so he is forcing Rolf to practice tongue twisters until loses it.  Rolf works himself into a tizzy because he hates it.  Hates it!  This is kind of hilarious.  Rolf informs him that while John was at the gym, a man called to tell him that another Kiriakis shipment has arrived at the dock.  John plans to interfere with this one too.  The doorbell rings, and Marlena (Deidre Hall) arrives.  By the way, Rolf is hilarious today.  He's clearly the best character on Days of our Lives.

At the Kiriakis mansion, Victor (John Aniston) and Philip (Jay Kenneth Johnson) are holding a dinner in honor of Chelsea (Rachel Melvin) getting better.  Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) is obviously still living there.  Victor has also invited Dr. Daniel Jonas to dinner, and Chloe wastes little time before giving him the come-hither eyes.

Marlena is about to say why she came to visit, but she's put off by the fact that Rolf is still standing there.  She says that she got a phone call from Sami, asking her to meet her there.  Sami (Alison Sweeney) and EJ (James Scott) show up, out of breath.  They need John and Marlena's help with EJ's immigration problems.  They also have financial woes because they are having trouble paying the rent.  John sighs and says he'll pay them to get them out of his hair, but Marlena wants to help them out on her own.  Sami, however, says it's more complicated than that.  She explains that they have to prove to the immigration officer Mr. Burke that they have a real marriage, which means living together and spending time with extended family.  Their solution is that they want to move in with Marlena.  The problem is that her current digs aren't big enough to accommodate all three of them plus the babies, so she says that she can get a bigger place for them.

Almost immediately, however, Marlena changes her mind.  She says that the better solution would be for Sami and EJ to move into the DiMera mansion with John.  Sami and EJ think it's a crazy idea, but Marlena thinks that it's the best situation for everyone.  It would help Sami and EJ out with their immigration problem, and being with the twins might help John regain his lost humanity.  Sami thinks that maybe Marlena should move in there too.  John is hesitant to allow this, but he realizes that this might be the best way to keep an eye on EJ, who he is afraid might attempt a DiMera coup.

The Kiriakis dinner is underway, and John breaks out the champagne.  Chloe says that she'd "kill for some champagne," which Victor doesn't really like.  The doorbell rings, interrupting Victor's toast, and it's Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow).  She is just dropping by to check in on Chelsea.  Victor invites her to dinner.  Victor repeats the toasts to Kate, which includes everyone at the table except for Chloe.  Victor is clearly not happy with Chloe's presence.  The guests toast to Victor at the start of the entree.  Kate asks Daniel about his travels in Europe, and he gets into his groove talking about the surf in the south of France.  I wasn't aware that people surf in France.  Chelsea is enthralled by his stories.  Victor had Cook whip up a special dessert for Chelsea.  Everyone is all smiles, except for Victor, who shoots daggers at Chloe.  Henderson brings the dessert in.  It's a chocolate cake with ganache and hand-whipped cream.

While they eat, Daniel tells Chloe that he attended one of her opera performances in Vienna.  This prompts a snide comment from Victor, and Chloe can't take it anymore.  She gets up and leaves the table.  She's frustrated that Victor and everyone else keep pointing the finger at her even though she insists that she had nothing to do with Brady's disappearance.  She wants Philip to get his father to apologize to her.  Back at the dinner table, Victor apologizes for his outburst.  Kate advises him to treat Chloe nicer; otherwise, he'll drive her right into Philip's arms which is the last place Victor wants her.  Chloe and Philip come back to the table and Victor makes a half-hearted apology.  Then, the doorbell rings again as Victor and Chloe commence yelling at each other.  Nicole Walker enters the room.

Next Max tells Stephanie not to come down to the docks anymore, Ava tells Steve to kiss Hope, and Nicole tells Kate that she just couldn't stay away.
